Warmists and Their “Science” Head To Copenhagen

Those who would like to restrict how you live depending on how big your carbon footprint might be apparently don’t have a problem with the size of theirs.  Theirs will be a 41,000 ton carbon footprint which will include 1,200 limousines, 141 private jets and just about every 5 star hotel in the city is booked up by the 15,000 delegates.

Perhaps it is the members of the world’s oldest profession which best help identify what this is really all about.

And this being Scandinavia, even the prostitutes are doing their bit for the planet. Outraged by a council postcard urging delegates to “be sustainable, don’t buy sex,” the local sex workers’ union – they have unions here – has announced that all its 1,400 members will give free intercourse to anyone with a climate conference delegate’s pass. The term “carbon dating” just took on an entirely new meaning.

This, my friends, is how absurd it has become. In fact, I would suggest the local sex workers are an analogy for exactly what these Warmists intend to do to the entire world. And the world is pretty much giving it up for free.

Pretty sad.

And as the delegates meet, they do so under a shadow. For the first time, not just the methods but the entire purpose of the climate change agenda is being questioned. Leaked emails showing key scientists conspiring to fix data that undermined their case have boosted the sceptic lobby. Australia has voted down climate change laws. Last week’s unusually strident attack by the Energy Secretary, Ed Miliband, on climate change “saboteurs” reflected real fear in government that momentum is slipping away from the cause.

Let’s make sure that’s precisely what happens.

  • Is “climate pimp,” Al Gore, going ?

  • Whores for the Whores.

  • “What we must realize is that, in a democracy, the whore are us!” – P.J. O’Rourke, Parliament of Whores.

  • You know something? Copenhagen is even more irrelevant than Kyoto, and the latter had a far better chance of being implemented in the US than this turkey does now. Simply put, the Demmies in the US Senate are scared sh!tless of what is happening to their party, and they need 67 votes to pass any treaty through that body. I think I can confidently predict that they don’t even have 50 votes. So, if Copenhagen produces zip nada zilch, and health care dies its deserving death sometime in 2010, what do the Demmies run with in 2010? Immigration “reform”? (“We made 20 million illegals legal citizens! Vote for us!”) Crap and Trade? What then?

The Obama and Demmie cabinet is rather bare. They will have to run in 2010 on no health care, no Crap and Trade, and massive unemployment and an upward-exploding deficit. That is what I call a prescription for electoral disaster.

    • Not to worry.  If Obama and company cannot get a Cap & Tax bill through the normal legislative process, they will just turn the EPA loose to do the dirty deed on Corporate America.  And, trust me, there are some hard-core true believers over there at the EPA and they can’t wait to be given the green light (pardon the pun) on this fiasco!

  • “Australia has voted down climate change laws.”

Sort of.  The Labour Party ETS has been defeated in the upper house, but the Liberals are self destructing over this issue.  Most likely an early election will occur at which Labour gain more seats and then ram through a more robust climate change package.

    • “…the Liberals are self destructing over this issue.”

I, for one, would love to see Kevin Rudd get his comeuppance. John Howard was a great friend of the United States, and, among world leaders, one of a handful who stood by us during the Bush administration, along with Blair and some others. He may not have been a great leader for Australia, but one has to look at a leader’s role in the world as a whole to see what kind of legacy he should have. Howard has a great one as far as I am concerned. When the next Australian national election comes up and, I believe, Rudd goes down to defeat, he will quickly be forgotten as a transitional figure at best. Sort of like Obama, who I believe is making ripe the conditions for his Jimmy Carter-like one term in office only, each passing day.

  • Free sex for 15,000 delegates?  Aren’t they afraid all that friction might raise global temperature?

  • I thought that this part was the most telling:

And the total number of electric cars or hybrids among that number? “Five,” says Ms Jorgensen. “The government has some alternative fuel cars but the rest will be petrol or diesel. We don’t have any hybrids in Denmark, unfortunately, due to the extreme taxes on those cars. It makes no sense at all, but it’s very Danish.”

You got that?  Global warming is a crisis that requires immediate action if we are to avoid a catastrophic future.  In fact, it’s so critical that we act RIGHT NOW that Europe is taking the lead by… taxing hybrid fuel autos out of the market.  The next time that an alarmist tells us how important it is to ‘do something now’ and tells us that government leaders are on board, remember that governments are still taking a ‘do as I say, not as I do’ approach to the issue.
