What? No stories about the “all white” Occupy Wall Street crowd?

Well there is one, and I’m going to cite it, but it is interesting, I think, that only one has appeared given the constant “lily white” portrait of Tea Party events.

Though a few representatives of minority groups have appeared among the “Occupy Wall Street” protesters in New York City, photos and videos of the left-wing mini-throngs indicate they suffer from a serious lack of diversity. And the protesters themselves told The Daily Caller on Tuesday that they are conscious of the issue, if not the inconsistency it demonstrates.

A 40-photo Washington Post slideshow showing hundreds of angry protesters in New York and other cities includes no more than 15 clearly identifiable minority protesters, and just six African-Americans. The rest of the protesters shown are white, and most are male.

And yet they’re trying to portray themselves as the 99%.

I’m sorry, I find the whole thing hilarious.  Hoist on their own petard, the spokespeople are clueless about how to spin this:

“That’s an interesting question, and it comes up often,”’s Patrick Bruner said in an email to TheDC. “Unfortunately, we have a very high turnover rate, and nobody as of yet has come up with official diversity related statistics for us. From observation, I can tell you that we’re not all white, and that we also have a huge LGBT [Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender] population.”

“We’re working on reaching out to minority groups as well,” Bruner adds. “Thanks for the food for thought, I’m sorry I don’t have more exact information for you right now.”

They are a caricature of what they consistently accuse the right of being and then condemn.

Irony – I love it.

  • I was at Occupy Wall Street yesterday (10/4) and there were ample minorities represented.
The post, based apparently on a couple of photographs, is in error.

    • The post includes the quote from an organizer acknowledging the problem. Guess whose word carries more credibility? Yea, not yours. Btw, how does one decide what constitutes “ample” minorities?

      • Btw, how does one decide what constitutes “ample” minorities
        >>> For the left to preen about their diversity, all you need is one token. For the left to conceed any movement on the right is “diverse” they need 99% minorities. Pretty simple formula really

    • No doubt there is just as much diversity there as there is on MSNBC.

  • There is nothing ironic about it if they are pro-Obama.   Well, maybe being pro-Obama would be the ironic part.
Useful idiots is a better explanation.

    • The opponents of this movement are using the demands posted in this forum as the official lists. And some of these lists regardless of how right or wrong are extreme points of view and will only hurt our cause by making us look like extremist nut jobs.

Well, that isn’t the only reason, but it is a good start.
Next, they will demand that “the letter ‘M’ be stricken from the English language.”

  • One the one head it’s easy to understand a certain level of frustration by the “Occupy Wall Street” crowd, but I dare them to point to the part of the Obama “jobs bill” that will make their lives ant better.  If the “stimulus” didn’t do it for them, neither will the latest bill because it is “mini-stimulus” with sugar on top.
So when you hear “re-elect Obama” come from these rubes, you just have to shake your head.

    • The “Occupy Wall Street” protests and former White House “green jobs czar” Van Jones are the beginning of an “American Fall,” according to Rep. John Larson, chairman of the House Democratic Caucus.

There are really “Sticking to The Man” ?

      • An American “Fall” – now how absolutely like socialist propaganda does that sound.
So cute, it’s like “Arab Spring” only we get a 2-fer out of it.  Of course we REALLY only mean it’s ‘Fall’ in America, you know, otherwise known as Autumn, but of course we don’t want to call it “American Autumn” because then we lose the cutsie alternative meaning.
That’s right, FALL, as in adios, over the edge, lights out, bye bye, have a nice trip, ouch we hope that hurts!
How does it feel to be associated with the idea of an American Fall Mr. Larson?

  • An interesting thing I discovered last night. I tried to go to the occupywallstreet website and my Norton anti-virus blocked it as a malicious site. Apparently, they have a program on their site that will invade your Facebook profile and say that you support the movement even if you don’t.

  • Ask yourself how many days you can take off from your real job in our booming economy to go to protest the ‘rich’ on Wall Street.
Students, people who have more money than brains, or hired boobs.
Funny, they aren’t in Washington protesting the Democratic party controlled Senate’s inability to bring the direly needed Obama Jobs bill up for a vote to save the country.   They need to get down there, “Right Now”, and support our Resident.

  • That’s a fault of collectivists and their ideology – they claim to speak for groups and when those groups don’t show, then they look even more the fool.
They’re a group primarily consisting of ne’er do wells, I don’t care what the color of their skin or the presence or absence of dangly bits twixt their legs, I judge them by their actions.

  • Let get real here.  This has nothing to do with the poor useful idiots.
With folks like Congressional Democrats calling for an “American Autumn,” then Van Jones and the unions coming on board, these folks don’t really care about “Sticking It To The Man,” when they are “The Man” ?  Hell no.
Obama Gives Wall Street the Cold Shoulder

    Obama ‘leaves bankers cold’

Dozens of Obama 2008 Wall Street donors now support Romney

Cold $houlder for O, Snubbed by biz titans on Apple fund-raising visit
This is all about simple extortion.
Now they can’t have these Democrats (or Republicans) on Wall Street going of the reservation.

  • The outfit behind this is from Canada, and is known for their anti-Semitic crap.
But I say let them blather, and make sure it is VERY well covered in ALLLLLL media.
Let the idiots of the Mushroom Media draw any parallel they want to the TEA Party movement.
It will only work to our good.

  • From a bit earlier version of the Collective…(not in the original Austrian)…
    Therefore we demand:
    11. That all unearned income, and all income that does not arise from work, be abolished.
    Breaking the Bondage of Interest
    12. Since every war imposes on the people fearful sacrifices in blood and treasure, all personal profit arising from the war must be regarded as treason to the people We therefore demand the total confiscation of all war profits.
    13. We demand the nationalization of all trusts.
    14. We demand profit-sharing in large industries.
    15. We demand a generous increase in old-age pensions.
    16. We demand the creation and maintenance of a sound middle-class, the immediate communalization of large stores which will be rented cheaply to small tradespeople, and the strongest consideration must be given to ensure that small traders shall deliver the supplies needed by the State, the provinces and municipalities.
    17. We demand an agrarian reform in accordance with our national requirements, and the enactment of a law to expropriate the owners without compensation of any land needed for the common purpose. The abolition of ground rents, and the prohibition of all speculation in land.
    18. We demand that ruthless war be waged against those who work to the injury of the common welfare. Traitors, usurers, profiteers, etc., are to be punished with death, regardless of creed or race.
    19. We demand that Roman law, which serves a materialist ordering of the world, be replaced by German common law.
    20. In order to make it possible for every capable and industrious German to obtain higher education, and thus the opportunity to reach into positions of leadership, the State must assume the responsibility of organizing thoroughly the entire cultural system of the people The curricula of all educational establishments shall be adapted to practical life. The conception of the State Idea (science of citizenship) must be taught in the schools from the very beginning. We demand that specially talented children of poor parents, whatever their station or occupation, be educated at the expense of the State.
    21. The State has the duty to help raise the standard of national health by providing maternity welfare centers, by prohibiting juvenile labor, by increasing physical fitness through the introduction of compulsory games and gymnastics, and by the greatest possible encouragement of associations concerned with the physical education of the young.
    22. We demand the abolition of the regular army and the creation of a national (folk) army.
    23. We demand that there be a legal campaign against those who propagate deliberate political lies and disseminate them through the press.
Program of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party
    Sounds kinda familiar, huh.
    Back to you ERP…!!!

    • {sigh} {giggle} You dense righties getting things so wrong, all the time.

These students are real leftists, not pragmatic moderates like me and Obama. So their demands are a bit over the top. A bit. I’ve blogged about that, and you should absolutely come over there and see my rich, creamy analysis {analysis, analysis, analysis} which is not merely talking points I picked up from the New York Times, no sir.

These poor, misguided youth don’t understand that it’s necessary for everyone to sit down and hash things out. Then we can achieve their aims a bit more slowly, but in a way to mollify thick righties who don’t understand the glories of leftist utopia.

Obama did that with his healthcare plan, which I oppose because I think states should do it, but I support because, hey, it’s Obama of the christlike visage we’re talking about here. Because receiving healthcare no matter what is a moral right, which isn’t anything like those natural rights you ex-military, half-psychotic basket cases go on about. We’re just carbon-based life forms and so natural rights don’t exist, though moral rights as defined by wise, post-modern academics certainly do exist because we decree it.

Got that? It’s simple to understand if you have an advanced degree from a very prestigious place that absolutely does not give out degrees to graduate students who pester the faculty long enough and write hundreds of pages of prolix explanations for why leftism is the perfect political philosophy, using quotes from Star Wars and Styx to prove the point.

I really wish you guys would get connected to reality and understand that these young scamps have their heart in the right place and just want to make things better for everyone. And if that requires taking some stuff from those with ability to give to those with need, well, we just need to break some eggs and make some omelets. And that’s not really communism or socialism or any of that, and you guys should stop using those terms. You are not qualified to use them. Only leftists trained in ad hoc redefinition of terms to ensure that they don’t make leftism look bad are qualified to use them. I decree it.

But you’ll get connected to reality soon enough. America is in decline because of people like you and thank goodness we have Obama to fix things. He’s very likely to be re-elected, you know, and the fact that I’ve downgraded from “almost certain” to “very likely” is just changing up the terminology a bit and certainly not a pullback in case his poll numbers continue to plummet. Besides, he is still dazzlingly popular here in the faculty lounge.

I don’t really get what all the fuss is about anyway. Obama is working on creating jobs, and he would succeed if vicious righties would let him. And things are not that bad. Around this wonderful, bucolic college town, things are pretty much normal, though we have seen more moose invading the campus since the city had to cut back and fire the moose herder. But really, that’s not much of a downturn. Everyone I know still has their job. Good jobs too – regular paychecks from the government, nice pensions, and so on. Though the pay is a little low for someone who works for sixty hours a week, but I’m the spiritual type who loves my job and totally not interested in money. Really. Stop laughing. It’s not either because I’m so mediocre no one in their right mind would pay me to do anything in the real world that required measurable performance. Stop saying that.

      • …the city had to cut back and fire the moose herder

Have your city fathers considered a “scare-moose”?
        You start with a truck-load of hay, a 9′ Kodiak bear pelt….
Ops…sorry.  I was being a guy…always trying to fix stuff.  Pardon…you just needed someone to listen sympathetically.  And say, “I understand”.  Men Are From Mars…Erps Are From Hunger.

      • I have been cataloging all of these, someday in the future when I need a good laugh I will re-read them all.

After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

  • Imagine those greedy colleges, pointing guns at people’s heads, making them sign up for education, making them take out loans to get the eduction they are entitled to as a fundamental right, and then making them pay those loans back!!!!!
Yeah, that about covers it, I wish that was sarcasm, but alas the only sarcastic part is me saying it.
