MLK is spinning in his grave

I wonder what Martin Luther King would say on the day  a black president is sworn in for his second term – a day that also celebrates King’s birth. You hope he’d be pleased. But my guess is, since he was more concerned with the content of your character than the color of your skin, that might not be the case.

Why? Because of the ongoing assault on our rights. For instance the gun control distraction that involves an Attorney General who is possibly the greatest hypocrite and biggest criminal in Washington.

What am I talking about?

Attorney General Eric Holder and his Department of Justice have asked a federal court to indefinitely delay a lawsuit brought by watchdog group Judicial Watch. The lawsuit seeks the enforcement of open records requests relating to Operation Fast and Furious, as required by law.

Judicial Watch had filed, on June 22, 2012, a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking all documents relating to Operation Fast and Furious and “specifically [a]ll records subject to the claim of executive privilege invoked by President Barack Obama on or about June 20, 2012.”

The administration has refused to comply with Judicial Watch’s FOIA request, and in mid-September the group filed a lawsuit challenging Holder’s denial. That lawsuit remains ongoing but within the past week President Barack Obama’s administration filed what’s called a “motion to stay” the suit. Such a motion is something that if granted would delay the lawsuit indefinitely.

I don’t care what anyone says what happened with Fast and Furious was criminal. And the ongoing cover-up is also criminal.  The “most transparant administration ever” is, in fact, the most opaque.

As for the hypocrisy, well that’s easy, especially given Fast and Furious.

Attorney General Eric Holder said today that the government will consider “imposing tough penalties on gun traffickers who help funnel weapons to dangerous criminals” while talking about gun control to U.S. mayors.

ERIC HOLDER: And to consider a series of new federal laws imposing tough penalties on gun traffickers who help funnel weapons to dangerous criminals.

Who is the biggest “gun trafficker” we know of?

Eric Holder.

  • He’s probably spinning in his grave, but because of all the self-inflicted problems in the African-American community. This is a world that values Al Sharpton more than MLK.

  • Between the Obami and the Collective, race relations are WORSE now than at any time in my six decades.
And racism is firmly entrenched in our laws and regulations.

  • The Deacons of Defense would not be (are not, I suspect, the surviving ones) pleased.

  • As someone pointed out on Brietbart.  The ‘executive orders on guns’ kabuki show he put on with the Stalinist children stage props the other day was right up there with his support for Gay marriage.  He didn’t sign 23 points, he signed 3, the executive orders haven’t shown up on the White House Web site.
Course with the most transparent administration in history working for him, he may claim he did sign them, but they’re secret, and we can’t see them.

And speaking of racism, he just couldn’t be ‘American’ during his inauguration speech could he.  Nope, he had tp be a color.  I don’t give a damn what a man’s color is, I only care if he’s a good man.   King’s ‘content’ speech is one of the few speeches I’ve heard in my life that stuck with me, most of the time it’s all just words, but there’s no arguing with the view that what matters  MOST is the content of a man’s character.  I wish I could feel like our leader had content beyond his own ego and wasn’t so prone to outright lying and deception.

    • Brought his buddy along, too.  Mr. Straw Man was an honored guest.

      • I think I can finally say it….this piece of trash is NOT my President.

      • I’m surprised there was room for actual human participants in the audience considering the number of straw men he assembled.

  • You said it right, “You don’t care what anybody thinks….”   And since that’s the case, there’s no sense confusing issues with the facts.

    • Your confusion of issues with “facts” never make sense.

      • Well, if he had some real facts that weren’t actually talking points and personal opinions it would help.

    • Speaking of confusion….

    • Cause ya know, it’s the MOST transparent administration in history ain’t it Tad?

In the same way a bomb proof vault is.

Does it occur to you at all during your day that you’re a hypocrite or are you really that oblivious?

  • You know, I really doubt he is.  Conservatives make a lot of that “content of their character” quote, but MLK was no conservative.  He was a great society liberal.  All social programming, all the time in the name of social justice.  Collective justice backed by collective rights.  If he hadn’t been tragically killed in Memphis, he’d probably look a lot more like Jesse Jackson than anyone cares to admit.  Complete with the illegitimate children.
