Tax on the rich? Boy it didn’t take long to spend that, did it?

Remember, this “tax fairness” was something which was going to solve our fiscal problems, if you listened to the left’s claim that is.  However, reality is fairly brutal and usually doesn’t much pay attention to rhetoric based in lies and stupidity.  Case in point:

Congress is poised to clear the final $50 billion chunk of emergency aid for Superstorm Sandy relief Monday — and in one vote, it will have used up all the new tax money President Obama won by raising rates on the wealthy in the “fiscal cliff” deal.

The “cliff” … well they’re busily engaged in trying to see if they can kick the can nearer the edge and, by the way, make the “cliff” a little higher while they do that by raising the debt limit … again.

Meanwhile, let’s talk about immigration, gun bans and whatever else our “leaders” can think of to distract us from this pending disaster.

  • The timing of Panetta’s decision to lift the ban on women in combat was just more distraction politics. Obummer’s gang wants to draw conservatives into making statements which can be characterized as nutty and misogynistic. Don’t take the bait.

    • As noted just days ago…
the Obamic attack on America is multifaceted and unrelenting.  Just because it attacks on so many fronts, that doesn’t mean we can treat any of the attacks as irrelevant.  It DOES mean we have to set a hierarchy on our responses.

    • Nutty, like, women don’t have the same upper body strength as men….

      • I’m a guy, but I’m not sure I could drag a 6′ 2″ 200 lb dude with all his gear. Maybe we should simply have units divided into weight classes. the big bruisers are in one unit, and us little guys and girls in another.

    • How about illegal immigration and gun control.  They are shotgunning us and we’re not equipped to deal with it.

These things need popular groundswell support to be stopped and they’re going to try to overwhelm that.

      • They do have popular groundswell support.   We’re just lied to and told that it’s the opposite,  that everyone EXCEPT YOU, wants the illegals to be made citizens, and guns to be taken away.  EVERYONE, but YOU.

      • Good example from this weekend – did you hear any great hoopla, or even anything, about the pro-life march in Washington?
We have achieved ‘state run’ media.

  • let me see, what’s the correct meme for this week….ah yes, here it is “WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE!”  (please note, I’m following the same shouting protocol rules as our Secretary of Mis-State).

    • We went through the entire last election cycle with the meme that “taxing the rich would solve the debt problems” never ever being given though review by the 4th Estate.  Now, it’s all gone .. for New Jersey and New York.
Yes … “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

      • The grand lie was that it would ever fix any problem anyway, everything after that was a minor lie variation.
Course over SPENDING isn’t a problem is it.
Another question – does anyone not wonder where $50 billion in Federal funding goes?  Have these people no insurance?  Last time we had a ‘natural disaster’ in this area, my insurance company cut me a check to get my roof repaired, I don’t recall a Federal check, or even any info on how to apply for Federal checks being involved.
I’m beginning to think all we’re seeing with these relief payments is an in the open undercover Federal bailout of those on the hook to pay the bills.  But of course, WE are not supposed to ask, that would be wrong to do, we’d be punishing our fellow citizens by withholding these funds that are going to…places unknown, unspecified and unasked.  Just pay and shut up, right?

        • Apparently, there has been a review of building standards and housing elevations over the last 3 years.  These were supposed to be made public in November.
The good news (and bad news) is that many folks will have to raise the elevation of their homes at the shore, if they rebuild.
Many folks have homes in washes and shouldn’t be allowed to rebuild or at least denied flood insurance if they do.

          • I’m not sure why all of YOU should pay to rebuild my house, especially if I have it in a low lying area prone to bad water behavior, and if I have my insurance premiums paid up.
Till then, I remain skeptical about these funds.  I remain skeptical of the idea that ‘the state’ owes me in the new house lottery when Mother Nature does her thing.  It’s a bitch, I know, but there it is.  When my house gets rebuilt by Federal aid after a wipe out I will come on and thank each and everyone profusely I’m sure.

  • If only the rich would pay their fair share…. (Rich now being defined to mean whatever they need it to mean)
    Let it burn.

  • And the publick skool idiots keep slurping it up!
Our only hope is that when the crap hits the fan these psychos oblige us by blowing their brains out (a .22LR would be sufficient).

  • “Boy it didn’t take long to spend that, did it?”
It reminds me of Audrey II (the plant) in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’. With the Republicans as the feckless Seymour (my apologies to Rick Moranis). The ending, I fear, will not be as upbeat as the movie’s.

  • “There is a state but it is a totally bankrupt state,” Mr Sapin said. “That is why we had to put a deficit reduction plan in place, and nothing should make us turn away from that objective.”
The comments came as President Hollande attempts to improve the image of the French economy after pledging to reduce the country’s deficit by cutting spending by €60bn (£51.5bn) over the next five years and increasing taxes by €20bn.
Data from Banque de France showed earlier this month that a flight of capital has already left the country amid concerns that France’s Socialist leader intends to soak the rich and businesses. The actor Gérard Depardieu has renounced his French citizenship and decamped to Russia in protest, while David Cameron said Britain will “roll out the red carpet” to attract wealthy individuals.

Meanwhile, singer Tina Turner is nearing receipt of her Swiss citizenship.

  • C’mon people, wake up.  Are you racist?  Are you sexist? Liberals are “free-thinking and enlightened.”  Don’t you know anything?  You must all be a bunch of ignorant bumpkins, of course everything PC liberals say is true.  After all, it just has to be!  Its the only way that it could be.  Gosh, you are all so ignorant!  When are we gonna raise taxes on millionaires and billionaires who make $200K a year to pay for all of our essential spending on the old, poor, and downtrodden?  Unreal, you cold, heartless, ignorant people.
