It’s not about “climate change”, it’s about power and control

Concerning “climate change” and Obama’s “deal” with China, Roger L. Simon nails it:

1. Most Americans don’t think Obama tells the truth about anything, let alone something as controversial as climate. They just made that clear by voting him down in about 237 elections, if you believe Obama’s own assertion that his own policies were on trial.

2. No one really knows if “climate change” exists or, if it does, whether its danger is remotely worth the money to correct it, although we do know that “global warming” has not occurred for eighteen years and counting and there is, if anything, global cooling with record lows being set everywhere, the Antarctic ice cap also at record levels, etc.  (Yes, yes, climate is not weather, blablabla.  Climate is… anything you want to say it is.)

3.  Anyone who still believes in “climate change” is likely to be:  a. a profiteer (like the financial wizards who put together those “carbon exchanges” a few years back, making off with billions before they went belly up), b. a scientist looking for a handout,  c. a bureaucrat or official of a Third World country looking for a handout, d. an official of the UN (virtually the same as c),  e. a moral narcissist, preferably rich, who thinks he knows better than us idiots, scientific training not required (cf. Tom Steyer, this year’s George Soros wannabe),  f. a true-believing liberal camp follower of the sort that doesn’t care when Nancy Pelosi says you have to pass Obamacare in order to know what’s in it (this is the largest group), or g. a journalist blinded by panic about losing their job if they dare to tell even part of the truth or wander off the reservation.

However it is the opponents of this scam who are reviled and called “deniers”.

The fact is, there is no proof that what the alarmists fear exists or will exist.  Science doesn’t support their hypothesis and reality doesn’t support the conclusions of their modeling.  But the man who said that “science” would take precedence in his administration has yet to demonstrate that.  This is about control.  Power.  This is the crew that would tell you every step of the way how you should live your life.  They’ve now gotten their claws into your healthcare.  And this helps them control what energy you use and, by the way, literally creates a revenue stream out of thin air.  Revenue streams are important, because that’s one way they exert their control.

As for China – they too know this man as Simon points out:

How do the Chinese figure in all this? Since they break into practically every computer we own, we can assume they also read our newspapers and watch Fox News (maybe even MSNBC, Heaven help them).  Besides Obama’s being a lame duck who was clobbered in the last election, they are fully aware of his myriad lies and prevarications from “If like your plan…” to red lines in Syria.  No one trusts him, even members of his own party.

The Chinese therefore know any deal with Obama is just for show, meaningless.  But to make doubly sure, they arranged for the language in the agreement to say “intend” to reduce their emissions by such-and-such by 2020 — “intend,” the mother of all wiggle words.  (I “intend” to win the Oscar in 2016, even though I have not written the script yet.) Actually, the Chinese, as usual, did a brilliant job of using Obama for their own propaganda, knowing full well that he was desperate to be back in the news for something positive, preferably as far from D.C. as possible.

January, 2017 can’t come soon enough.

  • The Chinese…like the Russians and the Iranians…can read “I’m WEAK, DO ME” all over Pres. ScamWOW.

So they take him at his word (body language as he bows, etc.), and they DO him.

Trouble is, we are the “screwees” in the final analysis, as we are the proles who will NOT form the businesses, WILL pay the higher utility fees, higher fuel costs, and sit in the cold darkness of the New Dark Ages if these warm-mongers have their way. Above us, in their warm, lighted cabins, the New Barons will fly to meetings of their druid priesthood. Mark Steyn has called them the Clime Syndicate. How appropriate.

    • Well, you know, money can buy loyalty – up to a point.

    • At this point, China doesn’t even meet the standards of the US Clean Air Act of 1963.

China is in it’s infancy, in terms of dealing with “clean air.” They have a along way to go before they even get beyond the obviously offensive particulates and aerosols. Dealing with invisible and olfactory-challenged gases, such as CO2, is a long way off.

Besides, most Chinese view the “Climate Change” meme as a Western plot to keep them backward.

      • Most Chinese would be right, but they should take comfort that the warmists aren’t specifically aiming the backward gun at them.
        They’re aiming at everyone
So long as somewhere someone continues to magically manufacture windmills, solar panels, Priuses, IPhones and kale.

      • Its a plot to keep up all backward. The Luddites bred with the Socialists whose forte is propaganda. That produced the modern ‘environmentalist’. They take the public mantle of scientist in order to keep us backward. There is nothing that will strangle human progress (the standard of living type progress before progressives hijacked the term) than choking off energy (hydrocarbons and nuclear being the only practical types, hydro electric too situational). The socialist side gets taxes, regulation, and wealth transfer.

    • All the emission scenarios show China will peak around 2030. So guess what — China agreed to a non-binding agreement to peak their emissions around 2030 — which is happening anyway. There is nothing here.

  • And so was Health Insurance.

    Birds of a feather!

    • Are you saying that Barack Obama is actually as White as his Mama, but looks darker because he is so full of sh$t ?

  • You really have to look to the Copenhagen Accords (that were never agreed to by the Chinese and Indians) to see that this has almost nothing to do with climate.
The entire underlying plan of Copenhagen was to freeze industrial capacity in place by using payments from industrialized countries to unindustrialized countries as a bribe to not industrialize.
Does anybody believe that industrialized 1st World countries were going to pay out of pure philanthropy ? (See Global Poverty Act: introduced and sponsored in the US Senate by Sen. Barack Obama as S.2433)
Even worse, does anybody think those payments would have stopped the unindustrialized countries from surging ahead ?

    • The quaint uncivilized should remain quaint and uncivilized so the high and mighty will be able to admire them and their backward quaintness from afar.

      • Nobody in the world is more cruel to the impoverished third world than Green Weenies. They’ll render the bodies of the poor for a can of Self-righteous Polish. Not the big can, either.

        • It’s hard to be so high minded that you’re willing to doom people to famine, flood and disease so they can remain unspoiled by the evils and perils of civilization. After all, what does civilization bring them except reliable shelter, lower mortality for mothers and infants and the general population, two or three nutritious meals a day, adequate clean water, access to education (assuming they don’t allow UC Berkley or Harvard to provide it) and opportunity for a brighter future.

Yes, you have to be a genuinely environment in tune person to make those hard decisions to allow others to suffer and die so that your superstitious views on civilization and civilized ideals might triumph in the unspoiled and unadvanced parts of the world.

          • I still giggle about the sinking of a Green Peace ship…packed with high-paying eco tourists…in the Antarctic. Which, of course, caused VASTLY more unremediated pollution than did the sinking of the Exxon Valdez.

I DO have a dark sense of humor, borne of a strong tie to reality. (I repudiate myself. Of course…)

      • Except for the ecotourists. Can’t have ecotourism without the eco to tour. The third world is one big nature preserve to them, and the people in it nothing but wildlife, to be observed and studied in their natural state.

Except for coffee and chocolate plantations, of course.

    • “… using payments from industrialized countries to unindustrialized countries as a bribe to not industrialize.”
You missed the point here that this is exactly the same game plan as “ObamaDoesn’tCare how much it costs”.
Make the blighters a dependent of the industrialized countries. Evil Republican CEOs couldn’t come up with a plan this devious.
