One Response to Observations: The QandO Podcast for 1 Apr 16

  • We’ll never make anything here because no matter what industry you name, some country somewhere will decide they will do whatever it takes to dominate that industry. Being able to do things you can’t do here, near slave labor, child labor, draining pollution into a ditch. Add in government currency fixing and subsidies or at a minimum endless loan guaranteeing, they will always win if there isn’t some form of protection on this end. Before China, it was a mix of countries. Anywho, these countries drop a lot of money in Washington.

In addition to their money you have a lot of people hear who invest into the country who is aggressively taking over an industry and want us to do nothing. For all the praise of the investment class with their risk taking, they prize a sure thing above all else. And if we do nothing its a sure thing someone somewhere will take that industry over and its a sure payoff if you get in on the ground floor.
