Occupy Wall Street — from grassroots to Astro-turf
It may have begun as a genuine grassroots movement (and a rather lame one too boot) but the professional left is now taking it over and it is a true Astro-turf movement now.
Don’t believe me? Listen and learn:
Yes friends, that’s the SEIU’s Stephen Lerner telling you what the plans are for the rest of the week. For instance, notice that the Chicago protest is a planned protest ginned up by the SEIU (most likely with bussed in protesters). Notice too that the visits to millionaire’s homes in NY City isn’t a “Occupy Wall Street” event per se, but one planned by the SEIU.
That’s Astro-turf in the political sense.
Look it up.

It sure follows the Bolshevik pattern of co-option.
But this is really all a practice of the Collective. They ALL understand the utility of acting in concert, regardless of their particular kink.

Heh, heh, heh…
“Those are OUR capitalists…”
Well the long haired goin nowhere dude didn’t say he liked capitalism, just money.
The UK papers have some nice photos of the designer jeans, the ipods, the ipads, lap tops, sporty shoes, wad o’ cash, etc that these ‘poor’ protestors have. A couple of nicely painted topless young ladies in the mix – Erb has daughters, doesn’t he? I’m sure this is how he’s hoping they’ll turn out, topless and painted on a New York street.
Down with the capitalists – we are the 99%, where’s our free stuff?
Where’s the damned LINK…ya big tease…!!!
Leave it to foreigners to do some investigative reporting and leave it to the Brits to toss in some T&A while they’re at it.
Meh…
But it DOES beat the hell out of Zombi’s coverage of OccupySF…

Yes yes, I know, but it’s such a shock to find out that the difference between a citation and not a citation is paint….
