Quote Of The Day

Who said:

“Over the next several months the President will propose a series of legislative and enforcement measures to reduce such U.S. tax evasion and avoidance.”

Why that would be tax cheat and now Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.

Heck, if they could just get half the Democrats in the administration to pay their taxes, they could probably put a big dent in the deficit.

  • timactual says:

Tax avoidance is perfectly legal, it is not ‘abuse’. Tax evasion, such as Geithner’s,  is already illegal and subject to enforcement measures.  I wonder what he means.

    • docjim505 says:

He means, timactual, that the government has plans for all those Atlases who are starting to shrug.  In the vernacular, “We’re comin’ to git you, sucka!”

Unless you have a (D) after your name, that is.

  • looker says:

So we should all maybe write “Geithner exemption” on our tax forms any where we think we ought not to be taxed.

  • looker says:

And I know this is off topic, but is it just me that thinks Gibbs looks like the Microsoft PC avatar from the Apple commercials?

    • capt joe says:

definitely.  I await the day when the mac avator shows up as a journalist. Â

  • shark says:

Anyone else’s irony meter peg out?!

    • looker says:

In order for it to peg I’d have to see a signal change.  So far it appears to be metering as normal.  Course I had a circuit bypass installed a while back when the “Most ethical Congress” came to power.

Well, you know what they say…

It takes a thief to catch a thief…

  • Billy Hollis says:

I can’t wait to see the Saturday Night Live skit based on this.

    • Scott Jacobs says:

      I sure can…

In fact, I hope to never see the SNL skit this spawns, but only because it would mean watching SNL…

      • Billy Hollis says:

Watching the whole show just to see this skit? So 20th century. I expect to see it on YouTube or Hulu. I have better things to do on Saturday night than watch broadcast TV.
