Memorial Day 2012
No image portrays the true meaning of Memorial Day like the following image. I posted it last year, and I’ll probably post it every year I draw breath. It best encapsulates the day’s meaning for me.
Freedom isn’t free. And it doesn’t come without a horrendous cost. God bless the fallen. And God comfort their families.

My first husband, killed in a helicopter crash in Cambodia, was buried on May 26, Memorial Day, 1975. After all these years, and a wonderful second marriage , this photo immediatelt brought back the pain and unreality of that time. My heart aches for her. May God give her the strength know her happy memories will eventually give her so much more joy than the sad ones do sorrow.
