Worst heat wave ever?! Uh, no …

While the likes of warmist hacks like Paul Krugman and others try to make something more out of this summer’s heat wave and the drought being suffered in one region of the country (btw, here in GA, I’ve not seen it this lush and green in July in probably 10 years or more) into a “global warming” story, history simply doesn’t support their claims.

Worst heat wave ever?

Probably not (Via Pirate’s Cove):

heat waves

Apparently, according to the EPA (yes, that’s right, the EPA), our worst heat waves came in the ‘30s.  You know, the “dustbowl” ‘30s?

Oh.  The ‘30s?  “Dustbowl”?   But, CO2!

Context and history continue to plague the warmists attempts to characterize what seems to be regional weather patterns (like the UK having one of the coolest and wettest summers in memory) into some sort of building global catastrophe.

I guess they’ve never read the story about the little boy who cried wolf too many times.

I have to wonder if Drugman isn’t just laughing at his own Collective now, filling column inches for Pinches money with nonsense even he finds risible.

You must understand the 4 cardinal rules of warming:

    1) if it’s hotter than before, it’s warming
    2) if it’s cooler than before, it’s warming
    3) if it’s dryer than before, it’s warming
    4) if it’s wetter than before, it’s warming

these 4 rules apply world wide, never in respect to the actual worldwide climate, but always in respect to whatever continent you’re on.

Be interesting if what we’re seeing is not global warming, but, climate shifting, i.e. prevailing weather pateerns in certain areas areas changing from historical norms.

Given the fall of American South-West and Mezo-American civilizations currently attributed by archeologists to climate change (in particular El-Nino) we’d have to ask ‘who’s historical norm’.

For example, Chaco Canyon, the Mayans, and the Peruvian civilizations 5800 years ago.

I’m gathering their version of the United MesoAmerican Nations (UMAN) was unable to get everyone to sign on to the Tikal Protocols, cut their carbon emissions and redistribute their wealth to the poorer tribes in Argentina, thus dooming them all.  The Mayans must have believed more in carbon offsets than the others and it’s clear their CO2 sequestration methods worked remarkably well since the jungle has long since consumed evidence of much of their civilized world.

No climatologist would contend the current heat wave is a result of global warming.  Singular events are the antithesis of “climatology” altogether.  Paul Krugman is no climatologist.  In fact, his column makes me skeptical as to his grasp on fairly basic thermodynamic principles along with the underlying climate change theory.
The climatological issue is not the severity of the heat wave, but the frequency with which increased deviations from normal occur.  I’m not sure where this graph comes from.  It is generally known that there were significant heat years from 1930-36, then again from 1954-56, but then again in 1980, 1988, 1998, 2002, 2004, 2011, 2012.  That is not enough to be a climatological trend, but intuitively it seems a little disconcerting.

It’s AGW, alright. Or maybe MGW. “She started a heat wave by letting her *seat* wave”
