The following US economic statistics were announced today:

New home sales rose a sharp 5.7% in September to a 389,000 annual rate.

The MBA reports mortgage applications fell 12.0% last week, with purchases down 8.0% and refinancings down 13.0%.

The Markit PMI manufacturing flash was rose 0.2 points in September to 51.3.
