Benghazi: Cowardice and incompetence

A deadly combination. If this election is about “trust” as Obama likes to say, then I trust him about as far as I could throw him.

This lady does about as good a job as you’ll see laying it all out:

Interesting footnote and something the Obama campaign has apparently forgotten:

A strikingly similar story from across the pond proves that honesty in the wake of terrorist attacks matters to voters.

On March 11, 2004, an al-Qaida terrorist cell bombed the commuter train system in Madrid, Spain. Nearly 200 people were killed.

The attack came just three days before Spain’s prime ministerial election. At the time, incumbent Jose Maria Aznar was enjoying a small lead in the polls. But the attack changed everything — and Aznar ended up losing to challenger Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero by five points.

Today, the consensus is that Aznar lost the election because of his mishandling and misrepresentation of the Madrid bombings. Aznar and his party claimed the bombings were the work of a Basque separatist organization, despite evidence to the contrary. The theory is that because Spain had recently entered the Iraq War — something that was unpopular with the Spanish electorate at the time — Aznar believed that admitting al-Qaida was behind the attack would damage his re-election chances.

The parallel between the Madrid bombings and the Benghazi attack is obvious. Like the Madrid bombings, the Benghazi attack happened in the midst of a heated campaign season and was followed by confusion, false assertions, and — worse — misrepresentations by the very political leaders asking for the electorate’s trust.

At the very least, the Obama administration bungled its response to the Benghazi attack. And the more information about the attack that surfaces, the worse President Obama looks.

Indeed. Keep this alive, because it illustrates explicitly why Obama is not someone this country can trust.

Both WaPo (Jen Rubin) and the Boston Glob have editorials up.  Something, but not nearly enough.
The NYTimes has spent days of front page coverage on complete lies WRT Bush, but they are burying this story, as is the broadcast media outside of Fox.
It really is astounding to watch.

    • looker says:

It’s still spreading, and they can’t stop it by pretending it didn’t happen.

And there’s nothing about Prince Barry the Indecisive that surprises me anymore.

  • Harun says:

That was very powerful television. She explained a lot of the story and show cased the lies succinctly.

  • the shark says:

Contra Billy yesterday, I’m still going to continue to demand the House hauls up ex Pres. Obama, Hillary and the lot of them to answer for this.

    • Billy Hollis says:

I’m all in favor of your demand. I just don’t think Romney’s the guy who will push it enough to get action. Nor is Boehner. Or Cantor. Or McConnell…

  • Ragspierre says:

I also want to know a LOT more about the two flag-grade officers serving in that theater who where pulled down last week….

Other questions we won’t demand answers for…..it’s related in that it’s just further bullshit cover scurrying by this administration.   United Banana Republic of Obama.

  • tadcf says:

And you trust Romney adding the USA to his portfolio?  (Search “Romney’s Bailout Bonanza”)

    • Billy Hollis says:

      Troll quality rating: 0.3 / 10

Suggestion for improving troll rating: do not begin with an obviously nonsensical, borderline incoherent sentence.

    • Ragspierre says:

Oh, yah!, moron.  DemonCraticUnderground is ALLLLLLLL kinds of credible!!!
And Romney has PASSED up MANY opportunities to make vast sums of money, you putz.
As I told you before, Romney can’t buy the USA for his portfolio…Soros would never sell.

    • looker says:

Better Romney’s Portfolio than Big Ear Barry’s little Red Book.

    • timactual says:

Hey! It’s not portfolio anymore, it’s BINDER. At least try to stay up to date with the current talking points.

    • Sharpshooter says:

Example: Staples opens 1,000 stores in Europe and Asia, hiring 90,000 employees and Obama says Romney outsourced 90,000 jobs.
It’s amazing what you can spout, and the Mushroom Media will barf back, when you’re utterly clueless, and haven’t hired a single person on your own dime…EVER.

Make of this what you choose but I think it is much more important than domestic partisan political squabbles; as important as they are to fiscal health of our Nation.

Personally, as a combat veteran, events in Benghazi, Libya on 11 Sept 2012 led to presidential action which is at a minimum gross negligence by our Sorry Clusterf**k of A Miserable Failure (SCOAMF) Commander-in-Chief!

    Here’s the oath I swore in 1965:

“I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.” (Title 10, US Code; Act of 5 May 1960 replacing the wording first adopted in 1789, with amendment effective 5 October 1962).

Our SCOAMF C-in-C swore something similar under Article 2, Section 1, and Clause 8 of the U.S. Constitution and has failed to fulfill his oath, in my opinion.

At a minimum his actions regarding events of September 11th, 2012 in Benghazi, Libya constitute gross negligence and could be construed to be “treason” if current reports of his action/inaction are in fact true…all apparently done for the purpose of domestic partisan political gain. The lies have gone on for weeks and are now reduced to avoidance of pertinent questions and abetted by Lamestream Media silence.

    • RiverRat says:

Please join me in avoiding the National pain of a Congressional Impeachment and Senate Trial in 2013 by voting this SCOAMF out of office on November 6th, 2012.

What is the most amazing part of this story (and Fast & Furious) is that it is now the target of an investigation by this administration.   Think about that for a moment. …   the administration is investigating itself.   The federal government has gotten so big that it now takes months for it to investigate the operation of the federal government.

  • Ragspierre says:

Several former military officers and EMs are keeping up the pressure for a REAL account of who did what when.
