Civil War is around the corner, but we might not turn it.  The political divisions are vast and so far insolvable by the electoral process.  If one side or another did get the upper hand to a comfortable degree, then when the crisis hits, a path forward would be fairly clear.  The socialist’s path would be desperately wrong, and perhaps war would be preferable to the consequences of their success.  They might feel the same about the consequences of a red state friendly national government, when the interest rates spike.
Promises have been made which can not be kept in the original sense they were made, so they won’t be.  Someone’s getting screwed, the question to be settled is who, how, and over what time frame.
And will we change direction so it doesn’t go down this way again any time soon?
Blue state or red state, socialism or liberty, empire or republic, majoritarian tyrant or constitution?
The historical analogy that would seem to apply would be Buchanan moving military stores into unguarded southern facilities, or ones he planned on abandoning to the South.
In the event interest rates spike during Obama’s remaining term, I believe future historians will regard what you are remarking on as the pre-positioning of war material.
If the thing is won, it will still be worth it, just as the Civil and Revolutionary wars were.  If it is not won by the constitutional side, then every brave stand at Lexington, every bleeding foot at Valley Forge, every desperate second at Cowpens, each drop of sweat at Monmouth, and every grim yard dug at Yorktown, they may as well have not bothered.

Can you imagine knocking on wood every day for a few years at a time?  Those of you who are combat veterans certainly can.

I think of a runner going from position to position, dodging fire and passing out ammo, and I think of the the “Clint Eastwood” lyric, “I brought all this, so you can survive, when law is lawless…”

Oh well.

I know I would rather kill and die than see this country end, and several more Obama’s in a row, and that would be accomplishe.  Maybe, just in this term, if the seats of several more right then left justices are his to replace, and enough goes just right for the left.

If you don’t have the impression the car is careening along the edge of a cliff, the wheels are lifting up a bit on the safe side, and the ignorant and insane are grabbing for the wheel–then I’d say you aren’t paying attention.
