You don’t want to go there, okay?

Eric Holder – “You don’t want to go there buddy”.

That covers it doesn’t it?    A nice summary of the attitude of this administration acting like ‘gentlemen’ from Chicago.   Covers 6 years really.   Budgets, Fast and Furious, Gun control (but, as Mr. Twain observed, I repeat myself, and so will they),  Benghazi, IRS Scandal, Obamacare and “If you like your health plan…”, Government spying, Immigration…

“You don’t want to go there buddy.  You don’t want to go there, okay?”

Oh man, how I wish we hadn’t already gone there.

“You don’t want to go there buddy”

Wow.

or what Eric?  You going to come across the table and bust him up?   Or are you going to do it administratively?  Use your agency to do some investigating?   A few phone call records you got from the NSA, maybe a little IRS investigation?  Have Harry Reid mention on the Senate floor that he he heard someone say something.  Check out his campaign finances, his personal finances, his dog’s rabies vaccination?

What does that even mean, “you don’t want to go there”….should we call you ‘General’ or ‘Mr. Thug’.

Don’t go there buddy?   That sounds, as they say here in Texas, like fighting words, certainly the prelude to fighting words.   So what was that other than the opening of a threat.   Why not complete the sentence Eric?   “Or…”.

Makes you wish you were writing Gohmert’s lines right?   “Or what?”   That would have been my preferred response at that point.    You must keep in mind my “esprit descalier” is awesome.

“Or what, Mr. Holder?   Don’t go there, orrrrrrrr?”

If I was scripting for Holder we wouldn’t have gotten to that point though.  Because I’d probably have started off his opening with a little thuggish honesty…

“This is a nice little Congress you got here Mr. Gohmert (looks around appreciatively), be a shame if something was to happen to it eh? (smiles and winks).

(Clears throat)

Which is why I’ve, uh, come to, uh, visit here today (straightens his suit), to let you know, that (bows head and raises hands in halting motion), we’re done with these…(locks eyes with Gohmert) investigations and questions.  Mr. Obama has had enough of this “reparte”, and he wants me to give you a message….”.

I just can’t decide if he should deliver it as if he was from Newark New Jersey, or Birmingham England.   A nice Brummie accent would work but only if  Jason Statham is playing Gohmert.    But then we’d require stunt men for at least one of the starring characters, certainly for Holder.

Yes, this was a long week for little Eric.

He and the boss are planning on another gun grab attempt while ‘protecting’ those 2nd Amendment rights by letting us have biometric/electronically linked weapons.   You can bet they’ll grandfather all of those non complying guns out of existence and transform their owners into felons for failing to yield them up.

Then he tells us he has discretion (which he admittedly does) on what he prosecutes.   It’s just going to remain remarkably focused on administration foes.

He sort of threatens a member of Congress while treating Congress with continued contempt over his contempt of Congress charge; and for flair manages some high dudgeon about it for publicity sake.

and plays the race card on anyone daring to question him or his performance as AG.

Did I miss anything?

Oh yes, I missed the huge guffaw he probably gave off when he heard that Congress has cited Lois Lerner for criminal behavior and is waiting for him to prosecute her.

Probably not much danger in you going there, eh buddy?

UPDATE – 4/12/2014 – AP -  this was recovered after I botched an attempt to make a correction to Jason Statham’s name and sent the whole shebang into temporary oblivion.  Tis is the net after all, and nothing is ever really ‘gone’ (except the President’s college transcripts of course).

  • Here are the comments I clobbered.   Mea maxima culpa

    • The way things are trending, lots of people are going to be “going there” in ways that Eric Holder (and Lois Lerner and her ilk) won’t enjoy very much.

      • Quite so. And the longer we go down that road, the more brutal the trip back is going to be for those who drove us on that detour.

    • Louie Gohmert is the wrong guy to Holder to mess with.  As is Trey Gowdy.

    • Eric (Make those mean ol’ wacists stop picking on me!) Holder — embodiment of Chicago-on-the-Potomac.

Obama, Narcissist-in-Chief —- Ozymandias-on-the-Potomac (cant’ wait until his legacy is reduced to “two trunckless legs of stone” amid the blowing sands of time).

    • With nothing left of his credibility, Eric “The Coward” Holder has only threats remaining in his quiver.

    • Holder isn’t scarred in the least, even by strong-willed Republicans; he has the entire federal police apparatus, plus probably 100,000 gang bangers, at his disposal.

    • Apparently Gohmert didn’t want to go there.  No one in the House is serious.   Holder is in contempt.  Why hasn’t the House placed him under arrest and put him in that nice little cell that they have FOR JUST THAT PURPOSE?

      Holder called their bluff.  Again.

    • The real problem as I see is completely racial.
It seems that most, if not all, of the folks investigating the Administration are not African-American.
Eric Holder just believes that he would be more responsive if they were African-American (i.e. looks like him).
You get the picture, Eric Holder is discriminating against non-African-American members of Congress.

      • Holder believes if they looked like him they’d let him do what he wanted out of loyalty to a skin pigmentation.  Special isn’t it?

Don’t know where I saw it, but REALLY like this version: “Pyongyang on the Potomac”. It says so much, so succinctly !

  • ROTFLOL!   He said that because going that path would embarrass Gohlmert!  It wasn’t a threat, it was only “you want to go there – then you’re going to really hurt yourself.”  Your fantasies of threat are a sign of the out of touch weirdness that is keeping the GOP from recognizing that it is losing touch with the culture of the American people today.  To misinterpret Holder’s statement the way you did is really bizarre.   Obama has been scandal free because every time the GOP attempts to construct a scandal there is nothing there – and when they try to pretend there is something, they embarrass themselves.  The biggest, of course, is the claim that early roll out problems mean that the government can’t deal with the goals of Obamacare.  Ooops.  The GOP is learning that their memes are dying.  Lol.
Of course, people at Q and O were convinced three years ago the Euro was dead.  Can you guys ever own up to the fact that you’re wrong about most of what you predicted?  (Starting, of course, with the Iraq fiasco!)   Being wrong over and over becomes, embarrassing, doesn’t it?

    • ” Being wrong over and over becomes, embarrassing, doesn’t it?”

One would think so Scott, and yet….

      Here you are, once again.

      • Is it wrong if its for the greater good?

Make no mistake Erb is playing dumb to spin what happened for the best perception from anyone who may come across this blog who is on the fence.

People like Erb are on a propaganda religious war.  Doesn’t give one wit about the Truth.  Or sacrificing his credibility.

      • Hey be fair on the politically prostituted postmodern professor! He has a very nuanced and advanced view of the world. Why just lately he has given his view that genocide is just dandy if (1) it is quick, (2) it is brutally effective, (3) it is done by darkies (as with all illiberals he is fine with black-on-black violence so long as no white hispanics are involved) and (4) it does cross any red lines drawn in the shifting sands of Democratic party electoral advantages. With views like this, how can you not love the actions of a man like Holder? And ignore things like jumped-up fascists holding a ranchers cows to ransom?
Why, next you will be demanding he explain why he did not explain that Russia would soon turn the Ukraine into a turkey-shoot!

      • No, no! Don’t shoo him away! When Erbie posts, I positively feel YOUNG again.
Well, not quite FEEL young, I have flashbacks a half-century ago to elementary school, specifically the playground.
I also fondly recall the playground bully and the time he tried picking on me, getting his jaw fractured.

    • As a point of reference and observation however.

Eric Holder, as Attorney General, was held in contempt of Congress in June of 2012.

It’s 2014 and he hasn’t answered the charge aside to scoff at it and has failed to provide the requisite documentation that Congress has requested of his agency.

He’s an APPOINTED official of the government, clearly answering to only ONE man.   He’s not doing his job and worst of all FOR EVERYONE divisively hiding behind racism in the process.

Louie Gohmert, on the other hand was doing, precisely, his job, in reminding Mr. Holder the documentation they, Congress, requested is still not forthcoming, over 2 years after the demand.   Gohmert is an representative to the United States Congress, now serving his 5th term in office.   He was elected by the people of the State of Texas.

He answers to a few more people than one man, and to paraphrase an oh so special meme from the 2000 election, he was elected, not appointed.

      • A tragic phenomenon has affected President Obama since he became President. The more radical his audience, the more outrageous his lies. At his appearance before Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, Obama called voter fraud claims “bogus” and said his Justice Department has “taken on more than 100 voting rights cases since 2009. ”
This is a bald faced lie. One need merely click this link from the Justice Department’s own website to see it is a lie. The truth is that 39 cases have been brought, not 100 – and only 13 relate to protecting minority voting rights – usually foreign language ballot issues. The rest of the cases involve states sending out military ballots (an effort only begun after blistering coverage at PJ Media and elsewhere in 2010).
        http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2014/04/12/obama-lies-about-voter-fraud-and-doj-investigations-before-paranoid-audience/
Read the whole thing. Nobody who had any respect for the law would be seen in the company of “The Rat Reverend Al”.

        • Numbers mean what he wants them to mean – unemployment, deportation, economic improvement, number of people signed up for Obamacare, number of people who’s insurance was lost, how much each family would save in costs, how much taxes went up.

Numbers are just words to him, they have no basis in reality with respect to quantity.     Be grateful the DOJ hasn’t taken on thousands of voting rights cases since 2009.

          • Numbers are just words to him, they have no basis in reality with respect to quantity.

            Holder?
            Obama?
            Erb?

          • All the above.
And with Holder and Obama, at least, we see that numbers have a race and gender.

    • (Rolls eyes, chuckles, then breaks into guffaws)
Erp, you will lie about anything.  Case-in-point…for anyone with ears and a working brain…Holder was furious at Gohmert.  He was not causally giving the Congressman some helpful political advice!
How moronic is it for you to even suggest this?
Well, AS moronic as your suggestion/insistence/delusional babbling that Obama’s is a “scandal-free” administration.
OR that ObamaDoggle is working!  Now that thar is some HIGH dementia!  As America knows and shows in the polls…and WILL show at THE polling places.

    • Hey, Erbie…how long until Harry Reid gets frog marched to jail?

    • ROTFLOL! That’s the stupidest spin I’ve seen from you in a long time. Gohlmert gets under Holder’s skin by publicly embarassing the guy, and you expect anyone to believe that Holder is suddenly overcome with warm, fuzzy feelings for Gohlmert?  Holy crap, not even a child would believe that… * roll eyes * chuckle * guffaw *  Seriously, what color is the sky on your planet?

    • That’s right Scott. The GOP created Fast and Furious and the IRS scandal to attack Obama. Nothing to see there.

  • As to the lack of scandal – should it come as any surprise to anyone when THIS is the order of the day every day, for this administration?

“Sources who want to come forward with important stories that they feel the public needs to know are just scared to death that they’re going to be prosecuted,” she says. “Reporters fear that they will find themselves subpoenaed in this atmosphere.”

Abramson says that the Obama Administration uses legal loopholes to make things difficult for journalists and media organizations. She says, for example, that the Obama Justice Department pursues cases against reporters under an obscure provision of the 1917 Espionage Act.

“I think, in a back door way using an obscure provision of an old law, they are tip-toeing close to things that, here in the United States, we’ve never had,” says Abramson. “

That’s from executive editor of the New York Times, not Fox News or Infowars.

  • There’s a kind of intellectual poverty now. Liberalism hasn’t had a new idea since the 1960s, except Obamacare, and the country doesn’t like it.
“Foreign policy is a shambles from Russia to Iran to Syria to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. And, the recovery is unprecedentedly bad. So, what do you do? You say anyone who criticizes us is a racist. It’s become a joke among young people. You go to a campus where this kind of political correctness reigns and some young person says, ‘It looks like it’s going to rain.’ And, the person next to him looks and says, ‘You’re a racist.’ It’s so inappropriate. The constant invocation of this that it is becoming a national mirth.
    —George Will
    Yeeeeeup.
    Poor, stupid, hate-twisted dupes.
    Huh, Erp…???

    • Really, Rags, has “progressivism” had any new ideas in 5000 years? Has anything they puked up been something other than mantras from primitive, tribal cultures?
Why else is it indicated they so love Indian and Islamic ideas and lifestyles (for everyone else, certainly not for THEM!).

      • Well, yeah, sharps.  I have to say the did come up with some novel ideas.  For instance, the idea that propaganda was reducible to a “science”, as was killing on an industrial scale.  As was control of the thoughts and expression of whole vast populations of people, as was the ability of a few to control the entire activity of a nation, down to thinking they could predict the demand and supply of toilet paper.
THOSE really were new and DEEEElux notions.  But what is really a marvel to me is that…after over a century of seeing the enormous cost and the breathtaking failure of these notions, we still have idiots like Erp flacking for them.
Makes for smacking of the gob…

    • I’m pretty sure that the “racist” tag is directed at their own camp. What non-liberal/Democrat/pol sci professor gives two s**ts about being called a racist when they know they aren’t? Not many. But now, as modern socialist democrats find that they have run out of steam and that their class enemy is the middle class, i.e. themselves, all they can do is try to ward off internal revolt and cat-fighting among various factions who have little common interest (feminists, race baiters, gay activists, illegal immigrant advocates, Islamist apologists, environmentalists, unionists, …) by speaking power to truth as it were and keep the rank and file in line. Image and saying the “correct” thing are paramount to these people, so they can be kept in line just a few more years under the threat of their peers thinking they are racist. Or sexist, come 2016.

      • In a profoundly perverse way, the microtoming of our nation into ever smaller and more WEIRD sub-victim-classes is a tribute to the capitalist system.
There is actually a debate between man-hating womyn radical feminists and transgendered “women” about who should have a say in such things as “penis-in-vagina sex is ALWAYS rape, OK?” and rape committed by a transgendered XX woman against a “feminist” XX women.
People like Erp are going to find themselves being the witches at the stake.  They will just blink, and burn.
Me?  I have no problem saying, “Ya’ll are FLUCKING NUTS, and go screw yourselves”.  Which, I expect, will be possible before long, and the only sex the radicals of the Collective find acceptable.  Well…maybe with animals…

See, Erp, if we had a working press, there would be deep, dark, terrible Obamic scandals.

But we don’t have a working press.  We simply have the hacks and flacks for the Collective.  See Bob Schieffer’s interaction with Elijah Cummings were he never mentions Lerner and their emails.

  • More outlaw gangsta government from the Obamabanana Republic.
The group’s complaint also suggested that if HHS “directed, facilitated or tacitly accepted the time HUD employees inappropriately directed toward HHS’s health care program, then HHS violated the Antideficiency Act.”

The Antideficiency Act prohibits federal agencies from, among other things, “accepting voluntary services for the United States, or employing personal services not authorized by law, except in cases of emergency involving the safety of human life or the protection of property.”

“[Obamacare] implementation is clearly a high priority for the Obama administration,” Cause of Action said. “However, political priorities do not authorize agencies or the White House to violate appropriations law by taking agencies off of their congressionally mandated tasks.”

  • Speaking of “don’t Go There” … straight from the Bundy Ranch story comes this unhappy story that I’m sure the Administration had wished was left forgotten.
Expect the new HHS Secretary nominee to get questions about this story …

Federal funds are running out at the Desert Tortoise Conservation Center and officials plan to close the site and euthanize hundreds of the tortoises they’ve been caring for since the animals were added to the endangered species list in 1990.

“It’s the lesser of two evils, but it’s still evil,” said U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service desert tortoise recovery coordinator Roy Averill-Murray during a visit to the soon-to-be-shuttered reserve at the southern edge of the Las Vegas Valley last week.

… an endangered species euthanize because of the Sequestration, and who at OMB was in charge of the Administration’s response to the Sequestration ?
