Stupid voters, why don’t you believe us?

John Kerry has it all figured out. It’s not the Democrats that are the problem – it’s the voters:

“We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening,” Kerry told reporters after touring the Boston Medical Center yesterday.

Simple slogans? Like "hope and change?"  “If you like your doctor…”?  Or my personal favorite, “

It’s Bush’s fault”.

Ah, the irony.

Kerry’s cluelessness is endemic within the Democratic party and, to a lesser extent, the GOP. They simply don’t get it.

They can’t imagine that it is their agenda, narrative or anything else that’s at fault.  They’re the ruling elite, for heaven sake – how could what they want to impose be anything but wonderful, well thought out and necessary?  It has to be the people’s fault for not paying attention to or understanding the issues as they should – from the elite’s point of view.

Interestingly, Kerry demonstrates the same sort of frustration the people suffer.  He believes the people aren’t listening.  The people know, given the outcome of legislation like ObamaCare, that the ruling elite aren’t listening.  The problem for Kerry and the like is the people have the final say.

I’m sure they find that fact a bit, well, distasteful.

I’m of the opinion that any politician that believes what John Kerry expresses here is vulnerable.  It may only increase vulnerability a negligible degree depending on the state, but it is an attitude that is one which definitely alienates voters.  Keep it up and even the bluest (or reddest) state will turn then out.  MA has definitely proven that Kerry’s seat is not safe.  Heck, even Barney Frank is in a race for a change.

All this to say until these nimrods in both parties figure out that blaming the public for their failures is self-defeating and, frankly, stupid, nothing will change.  If the public isn’t on board with a politicians agenda, it damn sure isn’t the public’s fault, Mr. Kerry. Oh, here’s a thought – maybe it’s the agenda!

  • I’ve always loved John Kerry as a walking-talking embodiment of just about everything I hate.
Cowardice and a drive for self-aggrandizement on about every level on which it can exist.
Coupled with boundless hypocrisy…he speaks for the “little people”, doncha know…

  • The public sure is stupid…..yet smart enough to keep this piece of offal from gaining the Presidency.

    Choke on it, Sen. A**hat.

  • I almost feel sorry for this sad sack. He was soooo close. Someone actually called him “Mr. President”.
He translates that to an elevated opinion of himself. He’s never really done anything of note. He came from a bureaucrat dad and a rich, old-money mom. He wasn’t much of a sailor, if you believe the Swift Boat guys. He never held a real executive office – lieutenant governor was the closest he got. But his rise to “so close to the presidency he could taste it” reinforced his own inflated self-worth, and seeing that prize wrenched away at the last minute has made him a bitter old codger. Since he lost the presidency, the bitterness in him seems greater every year.
That might be because he saw someone even more inexperienced succeed at getting the office, where he failed. I’d be willing to bet he doesn’t care much for Obama, because his ego won’t allow it.
He ought to be seeing Obama’s stumbles, and thinking “there but for the grace of God go I” but he’s almost certainly incapable of that level of humility.

    • Oh, HELLL, Billy…  Compared to Owl  Gore, he was light-years away…
And how many people have you ever even HEARD of who brought their own movie camera to war so they could film totally STAGED footage of themselves for their “PT-109″ story…????  In COSTUMES…

  • Yeah. Everybody is just too stupid to understand …

U.S. President Barack Obama and his administration weakened the country’s economy by seeking to foster growth instead of paying down the federal debt, said Nassim Nicholas Taleb, author of “The Black Swan.”
“Obama did exactly the opposite of what should have been done,” Taleb said yesterday in Montreal in a speech as part of Canada’s Salon Speakers series. “He surrounded himself with people who exacerbated the problem. You have a person who has cancer and instead of removing the cancer, you give him tranquilizers. When you give tranquilizers to a cancer patient, they feel better but the cancer gets worse.”
Today, Taleb said, “total debt is higher than it was in 2008 and unemployment is worse.”

  • A co-opted press combined with a radical leftist leadership can only lead to disaster!Mr. Kerry is correct in one sense. The electorate doesn’t pay attention until it’s to late! Once they do, the establishment starts talking down to them as Mr. Kerry and others always do.
We are the caretakers of this government, not the morons in office. Educate yourselves on the issues and the folks running for and already in office. Don’t act on their lies and promises. Make your decisions based on their words and actions. Ask the important questions! Love your country! Remember the ideals and principles this country was founded on. Remember those who have paid the ultimate to give this to us.
I’ve said before the truth will win out if presented to the people and if the people are in fact paying attention! Of course, that would also mean all the people out there with their hands out would have to become responsible citizens, something any Marxist government frowns on.
I beseech everyone out there. Please, step back and re-educate yourselves as to our country’s founding ideals! Somehow we have managed to allow these bastards to brainwash the last few generations! It has to stop! Our very existence as a free country depends on it!
I mentioned the main thrust of our efforts have to be aimed at our elected officials, and I still believe that. However, it must be everyone’s job to educate themselves as to not only what is going on as to this radical march to the hard left, but also we maybe have to reach back and re-educate ourselves on this country’s basic ideals and principles! What is going on now is a complete betrayal of everything our founding fathers stood for. If we let it continue, shame on us all!
