Debt-forgiveness
Posted by Jon Henke
When James Baker gets back from this debt-forgiveness tour, I'm going to have him ring up my mortgage-lender. Apparently, he's a persuasive fellow...
After a visit by President Bush's envoy seeking a reduction of Iraq's massive debt, Kuwait said Wednesday it would look favorably on forgiving some of the $12 billion to $15 billion owed by its northern neighbor but did not say by how much. If things keep going like this, U2 will be opening for James Baker on their next tour.
UPDATE: Saudi Arabia is on board, too! Bakerpalooza!
