Kerry on Imus
Posted by Jon Henke

I've no transcript (for now), but if we can accept Wonkette's version as credible....

Kerry responds emphatically, "There's nothing to report, thre's nothing to talk about, I'm not going to talk about it," adding, "The answer is no."
...if we accept that as a credible version of the story, doesn't something still stand out to you? Kerry didn't actually deny it.

Sure, he denied that it was a story; he denied that it was worth talking about; he denied that he would talk about it....but he didn't actually deny the specific allegation. He even said "The answer is no", but didn't specify the question. Perhaps he was answering the unasked "will you talk about this"?

I mean, wouldn't you at least expect an "I did not have sexual relations with that woman"?

Very curious. If I find a transcript, I'll update this.

UPDATE: One story up on the interview so far in the major media, at SFGate.com. Mentions:
Bush AWOL story: 1
Kerry Intern story: 0

UPDATE II: Drudge has excerpted remarks. They are consistent with what was written above.

What was that you were saying yesterday about the press would jump on the Kerry thing because they "love a juicy story"?

Reminds me of the Clinton-Lewinsky story a bit...that was spiked and suppressed for months also, until it finally leaked out.

Disgusting

The clock is ticking on how soon we will be told to "move on."

Can you imagine if President Bush had the same thing when these idiotic questions about his service record first came up?

"There's nothing to report, thre's nothing to talk about, I'm not going to talk about it," adding, "The answer is no."
