When you see the praise ...
Posted by McQ

... Michelle Malkin reminds us to remember the writer, as well as being a leader in the KKK, at one time had this to say:

Sen. Byrd, 1947: "[I would] never submit to fight beneath that banner (the American flag) with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."

Robert Byrd's book is about to hit the stores. Someone with this sort of background has a hell of a lot of business talking about "Losing America: Confronting a Reckless and Arrogant Presidency" when there is very little doubt that if he'd had his way, "colored" water fountains would still be in vogue.
