Moore v. McCain
Posted by McQ

Snippets from the convention:

We have Michael Moore welcoming Republicans to his New York in USA Today:

But what's all this talk about New York being enemy territory? Nothing could be further from the truth. We New Yorkers love Republicans. We have a Republican mayor and governor, a death penalty and two nuclear plants within 30 miles of the city.

"We New Yorkers"? I thought this slug was from Michigan?

Apparently USA Today found Moore's mocking salute to Republicans "usable" unlike Ann Coulter's piece from the Democrat Convention.

John McCain
, however, addressed Moore rather well if a bit obliquely last night:

Our choice wasn't between a benign status quo and the bloodshed of war.

It was between war and a graver threat. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Not our critics abroad. Not our political opponents.

And certainly not a disingenuous film maker who would have us believe that Saddam's Iraq was an oasis of peace when in fact it was a place of indescribable cruelty, torture chambers, mass graves and prisons that destroyed the lives of the small children held inside their walls.

My small nit-pick with McCain is he referred to Moore as a "film maker". So did USA Today. I guess the word "propagandist" isn't in the style book.

New York Times article that refers to Moore's fantasy film as a "crockumentary".

As a Wolverine Stater myself, I'd be happy to see Moore claim a new state as his primary residence. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Now excuse me, I have to go figure out which minority group shouldn't be allowed to marry today. I'm leaning toward native hawaiians...

I saw where Moore flashed a "Loser" hand signal when McCain made his remark. Nice maturity level there. But hey, what would I expect from Jabba the Nut anyway.

During the last flip, or was if flop, Kerry & Edwards opposed gay marrige, but they say it's a matter for states, not Congress, to decide.

Well....that's a great plan....someone should explain reciprocity to these two guys.
No wonder Edwards is in favor of this answer, he's a trial lawyer. Think of the potential income.

Last time I checked though the States are the ones that send representatives to Congress.
Are we afraid we might have "democracy" in action, you know, where the majority rules?

Thank God we're a republic, and not a genuine democracy...."what shall we have for lunch said the 6 wolves to the 2 sheep"

And what has this got to do with Moore, is he gay now?

Moore has bailed - according to his handlers he's not going back into the convention tonight.

Gee, and he was so popular last night too!
