The Promise and The Reality
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, January 20, 2009

I may have to make this a reoccurring feature.

The Promise: During the campaign President Obama attacked corporate and special interest lobbyists as evil and banned their money and participation. He claimed that they would have little or no influence in an Obama administration.

The Reality:
[Sen. Harry] Reid invited top lobbyists to join him and his supporters for an inaugural brunch Monday where he told ABC News that he will still do plenty of business with them.

"And there's nothing wrong with that," said Reid. "And Obama will be meeting with them too." When asked to clarify his remarks, given Obama's promises to change that part of Capitol culture, Reid responded that lobbyists are part and parcel of the job.

"People should understand that lobbyists, per se, are someone's father, mother, son, daughter," said Reid. "They work for a living." The Democratic leader's sons and a son-in-law have worked as lobbyists.
Business as usual.

I do believe you should make it a continuing feature. Promise....Reality. Of course, it may be difficult to keep up with all the failed promises!

Consider this support for making this a recurring feature.

I’ve started doing something very similar on my own "one-horse" blog. I call the feature "You Got Changed!"

One indisputably good thing about Obama: Lots of blog fodder from here on out.

I’m with you on that, Bruce. It’s kinda like the Instapundit "They told if I voted for Bush ..." except without the sarcasm. Sadly.

Great! Send me a link when you do. I’m always starving for material to write about [Oh snap! The bosses are listening!] ... I mean, I usually have way too much stuff to blog on, so go ahead an slip me a link, but y’know, no promises ... [developing ...]

My God! Do you mean that Democrats are, dare I say it?

Could that be?

Could it also be that the same corrupt media that pounded Bush and McCain will say nothing, nada, zip about the hypocrisy and double standards of The Clown™ and His Dimwitted Followers?

Holy crud, Batman! Some people just discovered that the Emperor has no clothes, when those of us with brains knew it all along.

You might have to start a whole new blog if you plan on having a recurring feature of broken promises.

I wish I had a blog so I could start a clock with the time since his inauguration without catching Osama bin Laden, as promised. That "promise" ticked me off possibly the most because it was a cheap shot and about stupid.

So, where is Osama? (I figure dead, but I never made a promise to catch him).
