With President Obama’s Executive order to close GITMO and relocated the detainees this comes to mind: I note that America has had an ongoing political discussion of relocating the GITMO terrorists in a facility in the US and placing them on trial within the civilian court system for over a year. I have yet to hear anyone express any anxiety over the possibility of a staged attack to free the terrorists as has been done in Iraq and Afghanistan and by some of our own American criminal gangs. And with our porous borders outside help, if actually needed, is not far away.
I always find it interesting that our nation tries to bury its head in the sand when it comes to the potential problem of home grown Islamic terrorism as in GB. I certainly don’t want to see an over-reaction as was done in regards to those of Japanese ancestry at the start of WWII, however we a not even willing to generally publicly discuss that possibility.
Some in the media who have knowledge of terrorist organizations report that there are Hamas cells in as many as 42 states and many major cities. Since were can’t seem to control MS-13 and other national criminal gangs, why should I feel safe and secure if the detainees are relocated near me; especially when my state does not allow CCW permits without one having political pull or a dire documented need nor will it recognize my out-of-state CCW permit. |

With respect to the Japanese during WW2:
During the Pearl Harbor attack, a Japanese pilot was shot down and landed on one of the smaller islands. He quickly organized an insurgancy with at least one local islander of Japanese decent.
The incident ended sometime later when an islander charged the Japanese pilot, and knocked him down despite the pilot shooting him three times with his pistol. The wounded islander’s wife killed the pilot with a rock. The local who joined the insurgency killed himself with a shotgun, and his Japanese-American wife remained symopathetic to her husband and the pilot until she died, many years later.
So we had a real reson to think that Americans of Japanese decent would choose Japan over America, in the event of Japanese success. |
