More importantly, they do not consider the war in Iraq as a "distraction" from the efforts in Afghanistan. Yet, this is the anti-war mantra heard ever since the Islamo-fascists had the temerity to attack American troops. These are the same people who crashed jetliners into innocent Americans .... Right - after all, they have brown skin, speak Arabic, and are Islamic. Just like the 9/11 hijackers.
This is so much more of the same Bush propaganda. I remember a few weeks ago this website went on and on about how Bush never said Iraq was responsible for 9/11. Then you turn around and aaprovingly quote some guy who said that the Iraqis we are fighting in "war in Iraq" - and we are, by and large, fighting Iraqis - are the "same people" who mastermined 9/11.
So now are you saying Iraq was behind 9/11? I wish you’d make up your mind.

The LTC said,You constantly refer to the "failure" and "defeat" of Vietnam to justify your criticism of the current war. It is an unusual thought that you revel in the so-called defeat in Vietnam and optimistically predict the same self-induced conclusion in Iraq. My opinion is that the left is not only predicting defeat, they want defeat. This is because defeat will validate their opinion about the war as folly, as well as damage their political enemies. Whereas a victory in Iraq, with the Iraqi people enjoying the fruits of Liberty, will show the left as small-minded isolationists who only care about the "little man" if doing so doesn’t involve any inconvenience or sacrifice.
While I’m at it, I’m also skeptical about those who claim that the only desirable condition is "peace".
Why am I skeptical? Because tyrants are ubiquitous and eternal. Therefore, the struggle for Liberty (also known as "war") is ubiquitous and eternal. Sometimes war is hot; sometimes war is cold; and it takes the night off. But it will never really go away, provided that those who desire Liberty will pick up arms against those who desire tyranny.
Therefore, the only way to achieve "peace" is to hand the tyrants the keys to free nations.
My friends, I am not willing to live in a nation with that kind of peace.

Thank god we have people like LTC Kanaley on our side. He puts it quite clearly and uses history as a spot light for what is happening now.
As for MK and his ’more Bush Propoganda’... ummm, no, it’s not. It is the lucid writing of a learned man who is doing something you are utterly incapable of. You should at least give him the credit he has earned and deserves. |
