Indeed, we are getting the full text of your blog entries - but minus paragraph breaks and carriage returns, so virtually unreadable.
Fussy, aren’t we. |

I wondered what had happened. Bloglines had every post on the home page available, and my first thought was that you’d republished.
Bloglines looks OK for formatting, though. Perhaps Al’s using a different reader/aggrigator? |

LiveJournal also seems to be stripping all of the formatting out of the entries (which removes your boxed-out quotes as well). |

Matt; Perhaps there’s a difference in the screen resolution that causes us to see it differently?
In any event, I’m on a different computer just now, than the last time I posted to this thread, and in re-checking bloglines, I see the formatics issues you speak of. (shrug) |

Nothing really changes, because we still have to "click into" the post to read it, because the text comes as an unreadable solid block. |

P.S. I am using Feedreader, and Q&O is the only blog in my reader with this problem. |

P.P.S. And if it’s a long post / long block of text, now I have to scroll down to get to the "proper reading" link for the post; so things are actually worse than before.
I know this may be Feedreader’s fault; I’m only stating information. |

It’s fine now, good work Dale. One other suggestion, though: perhaps including the author of the post would be good. I can usually tell which of you guys I’m reading by the mannerisms, but it’s nice to not have to guess. |

I’ve added the <author> element to the RSS Feed. I don’t like the way this is implemented in RSS 2.0, because it’s actually an Email Address for this element, not simply a name, like the <originator> element in RSS 1.0.
So, I’ve created a new email address to handle feedback, and I’ve put the author’s name in the parentheses like the spec says. I don’t know if this is good enough for you, since the email address is always the same, because I don’t know if your feed reader displays the whole element or just the email address.
But it’s what the specification lets me do, so, there you go, so if it isn’t good enough, then you need to write a nasty note to the guys at Harvard. |

Confirmed on my second unit, Dale. All’s well.
Your point about the originator is noted; that did look a bit strange until I understood why. |

Ack. Hate to bug you again, but I’ve noticed another, er, bug. When displaying links in the feed on Bloglines, it inserts the bloglines URL first for some reason and puts the actual links in quotation marks right after, like so:
http://www.bloglines.com/"http://dalefranks.com/taxes.asp"
No other feeds are doing this, so it’s gotta be something on your end. Not a huge deal, but still... |
