Iran threatens Israel
Posted by: Jon Henke on Saturday, February 25, 2006

Stratfor reports that Iran is pursuing their own Sampson Option against Israel...
Iran will respond to a U.S. attack with a military strike against Israel's main nuclear facility, an Iranian adviser to the Revolutionary Guard said, Haaretz reported Feb. 24. The adviser said the Iranian retaliation against Israeli targets would also focus on Haifa, which houses several chemical factories and oil refineries, and Zakhariya, where an Israeli missile base is located.
Therein lies the problem with attacking Iran. It will not, can not, be as simple as the Osirik strike. A strike against Iran will certainly escalate conflict in the Middle East.

I'm not optimistic about any non-diplomatic resolution to the Israel and Iran problems. Perhaps a keen diplomatic strategy of aligning the stability interests of Middle Eastern nations with the US as a security guantantor can still result in a mutually tolerable resolution for the Mid-East. I doubt that military force will do so.

It’s maddening that this is only beginning to dawn on people now. I’ve said it elsewhere and I’ll say it again: you can have a stable Middle East or you can escalate with Iran. Pick one.

Which is why it needs to get done NOW, before they actually have a bomb AND a delivery system.

I think you missed the point, SDN. Iran can wreak havoc with or without the bomb. It may pay to prevent them from going nuclear, but the price of active intervention will be a middle-east conflagration whose outcome we can’t remotely predict.

This is why I believe that any attack on Iran by Israel will be nuclear, massive and preemptive.

It is an Iranian and Israeli problem, let them work it out.

The only problem with trying to obtain a diplomatic solution is that both parties to the process have to want peace. I question whether the Iranians really want peace.

So what are we waiting for?
We need to knock them out hard and now no bsing around!
By the time they start to recuperate from it the 6000 years will be up.

Iran has no intentions for peace. The president said it himself that he wants to wipe Israel off the map. If you want to know why the militant Muslims do what they do read the Koran. Then you’ll understand where these guys are coming from. You’ll see why the killing of Cristians and Jews are encouraged or any non-muslim for that matter. Islam is the greatest threat for peace.

I agree with Bubba.

There is no God, but their God: let’s make sure they get to spend an eternity with each other.

The sooner Israel nukes them, the sooner they get to start down the path to forever.

Message to Ehud: please don’t vaporize any oil!
