I’m pretty sure from the very few visits that I make to Media Matters is that their raison d’etre is to explain to various conservative groups what they *should* be believing to be members of whatever groups MM assigns them to. Thus, in the entry on Benson, they’re very busy not ’exposing conservative misinformation’ so much as they’re assailing their non-existent conservative religious readers for not believing what MM thinks they ought to be believing about what FoxNews should be broadcasting. Maybe they’re right. After, FoxNews does have a shrinking viewer base, right? Right? Right? Anyone? Anyone? . . . Bueller?
I mean, I’ve seen echo chambers before, but this place takes the cake. |

Yeah it’s meaningless, but I don’t see why you would find it that terribly ridiculous.
Apparently, The NY Mets are trading her husband, pitcher Kris Benson (career record 57-61). Baseball teams trade players all the time, and though the Mets say otherwise, FoxNews David Asman persisted in trying to get Anna Benson to say it was the liberal media’s fault for the trade.
Of which there are no facts to suggest this.
It may be a piddling issue and unworthy of much attention. But it seems as though pointing to FoxNews every misstep is to serve red meat to MediaMatters readership.
Not unlike McQ’s weekly all-you-can-eat batter fried Dean.

I completely disagree, Jon. If you were to read the entire MediaMatters post, you’ll notice they transcribed the interview and highlighted in bold where Asman suggested that it was the liberal media that was to blame,ASMAN: Now — now — now, a lot of people say — or make the suggestion, sometimes very blatantly, that you are partly responsible for your husband leaving the New York Mets and going to Baltimore, because of some of the things you have said, some of the things you have done. What do — how do you respond to that?
BENSON: You know, I don’t really know what the truth is. You know, the Mets have said to me that was not the case, that it was simply a trade.

ASMAN: And — and you’re no fan of Michael Moore.
BENSON: No fan.
ASMAN: So, what was more responsible for you getting in trouble with the press? Was it — was it these sexy poses and the things you had to say about sex, or your liberal — your — your — your attacks of the liberal media?
BENSON: I’m not attacking anyone. I mean, these are on my site. And these are my opinions. And if you don’t want to come on my site and read them, then don’t come.
ASMAN: But, again, the media went after you in certain ways, particularly in New York. There were some people, in particular, that — that made some nasty comments about it. Was it because of your stance on PETA and guns and Michael Moore, or because of what you said about sex?
BENSON: You would have to ask them that. I really — I —
ASMAN: All right.
BENSON: I don’t have a speculation on that. They are the ones that write it, not me. What MediaMatters did do, was make a poor choice in headlining their piece. Asman’s remarks about her “wonderful poses” seems to be the most accurate piece of information about the interview
And what I did was exactly what you suggested,
“So you can evaluate this "conservative misinformation" for youself,…”
I evaluated it, and shrugged it off as I’ve always thought that it was just the operational policy of FoxNews…

Attack “media elites” at the bottom of the hour.

I think the gist of the Media Matters piece was conveyed by their wrap-up...As Media Matters for America previously noted, Your World with Neil Cavuto has often aired photographs and videos of scantily clad women and blurred images of nude women. |

I had never heard of Anna until I saw her on Fox and I must say it is great to hear someone in the Media who is NOT a Tree hugging, Vegetarian, Anti-Gun, PETA loving, liberal. The fact that she hates PETA, eats meat, owns and shoots guns, and hates Moore is awesome. I say more power to her. And the fact that she is nice to look at is even better....
I don’t watch baseball because as far as I am concerned, it’s less fun than watching paint dry... |
