IMHO, FOX News would have instantly more mainstream credibility if it dropped Hannity. I don’t really care if they do or not, and I can’t stand the Hannity & Colmes show, but the gems highlighted above convince me that I’m right about this. |

Aside from being a no-talent hack, it seems Hannity is a bit of an *ss, too. And what’s with Levin’s "butt-boy" and "brokeback" comments? Gay-baiting? WTF?
Classless jerks. |

Like Alec Baldwin deserved better treatment? Nah. Hannity and Levin probably treated him better than he deserved. In fact, I’m suprised they didn’t just skip the "interview" and go straight to the pie fight.
On the other hand, probably the most entertainment Hannity has delivered since he started! |

Sounds like a Rikki Lake rerun.
I don’t watch Hannity either. Everyone already knows that Baldwin’s a lib blowhard - Hannity’s problem is he thinks he gets merits for pointing it out. -Steve |

If Hannity is a "no-talent bum" (I tend to agree in part), how does he get to number 2 and stay there? (I’m talking radio, not TV)
Rush is still the gold standard, while others have their niche..
Medved, Hewitt - debate Ingraham - humor Savage - sack cloth & ashes
Is there a market for a radio show that would get Baldwin & debate him straight up. Medved would come close, but all are too quick to punch, primp, preen before really giving these Bozos the rope they need to hang themselves.
Is trying for a show that is smack-dab in the middle of NPR and Conservative talk feasable? If it was, it would be/create a huge market.
As you might guess, I have an agenda. As radio evolves, someone ought to try to do a show that reaches across the aisle, and not preach to the converted. |

Baldwin starts the insults (I listened to the tape) and people here are taking Hannity to ask.
Incredible.
Btw, Hannity & Colmes is damn good.

I enjoy listening to talk radio, but I much prefer a more respectful approach. I found (back when I was living somewhere it was broadcast) that I couldn’t listen to Hannity’s radio show. And I don’t think this episode on Levin’s show does either one of them credit.
I really, strongly prefer Rush and Hugh Hewitt, because they’re very respectful of their callers. Hugh, in particular, is terrific at very respectfully allowing frothing lefties to expose their own inanity, while he stands back and watches.
Hugh’s also a terrific interviewer, asking succinct questions and then getting out of theway and letting the interviewee answer. I’ve gotten sensitive to, and annoyed by, interviewers who don’t know how to ask a quation and then shut up. Beyond my utter contempt and disdain for Al Franken, listening to one of his interviews, or reading a transcript, is painful, becuause he blathers on, and on, and on, and doesn’t get to the point! |

I listen to way too much talk radio, I tend to agree that Medvid, and Hewit are the best. But I like ingrahm and sometimes hannity. Mark Levin, is funny because he is witty but hopelessly twisted with bile. I like that sometimes. Micheal Savage is simply totally insane, period. |

Is Baldwin still here? I thought he left the country after Bush was elected, to avoid the horror. Well, if he finally does decide to leave, I hope he takes Hannity with him. France would be nice, I think.

This highlights one of the reasons I rarely listen to Hannity. Among a long list of reasons, I should hope. And, of course, I’m sure WABC’s Brian Whitman was thrilled at having to fill all that time after Baldwin stormed out of the studio (it was supposed to be a several hour interview).
Well can you blame Baldwin? Levin said, “why is your wife so p*ssed off at you?” Go on, someone blame him… I dare you. Baldwin explains,After some back and forth between myself and Hannity, most of it predictable, Levin made a comment connected to my divorce proceedings. I turned to Whitman, who knew that I was due to depart the show no later than 8:30 PM New York time anyway, and told him I had to go. I thought that Levin, whoever he may be and whatever code he does or does not operate by, had crossed a line and I was under no obligation to continue in that vein. I don’t agree with Baldwin on a lot of things, but he’s right about Hannity being a hack. But of course, FoxNews… heh, speaks for itself. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, or whether you’re right or wrong, always be loyal and show it by insulting the opposition above and beyond normal levels of decency... sympomless, it’s as though you’ve lived here for years…Yeah Rick unlike the LEFT, that home of decency, toleration and respect for dissent. BTW, Rick when does DU or Kos intend to castigate any of the Air Emrica hosts for their on air sillinesses? Joe, I assume you meant AirAmerica. I listen to AirAmerica quite often, and though “silliness” may be accurate, I’m wondering what exactly you find silly about it. I mean, what remarks from an AirAmerica host compares to “butt-boy” or “brokeback” or “why is your wife p*ssed off at you?” ???
I’m curious. Can you, Joe, quote me something from AirAmerica that even comes close? I’m not suggesting that one doesn’t exist, I am having trouble though remembering anything of the like coming from an AirAmerica radio host. Perhaps you could enlighten me. |

Frankly, Baldwin is an *ss. His ’all too mighty’ comments regarding contstruction workers’ is just appalling. Frankly, they, like alot of people, have to work for a living, I mean real work. I do it, I don’t have some plushy "job" that pays me way to much to do something I enjoy. Baldwin has everything handed to him on a silver platter, I’m sorry we are not all that fortunate. Because his is an alleged star his comments get publicity, frankly, I don’t give a rats *ss about your political views Mr. Baldwin. I watch your movies that’s it. AND, frankly, if you want to come on Brian Whitman’s program, a politcal program (aren’t they all), then be prepared to talk politics. One more thing, Mr. Baldwin feels he can say anything when nobody is there with a contradictory point of view, in fact, I have NEVER seen him debate anyone, except by himself in front of a camera. Well if you want to walk the walk then talk the talk. I also agrr with the prior comment, he swore he would leave the country if Bush were elected, well Bush is now on his second term....you’re still here Alec..don’t do us any favors. I am not an extreme right or lefter, I am independent and call it as I see it. |

that whole Hannity-Baldwin thing was a four-way loserfest. Whitman is a loser for allowing this crap on his show. as soon as Levin made that crack he should have pulled the plug on him. Hannity is a loser for lowering himself to the very name-calling he condemns Baldwin etc for. Baldwin is a big loser for his extreme elitism, as well as his going into the name-calling mode instead of at least trying to explain his positions. and Levin is the biggest loser of all for his personal attacks. this was like a fight where one fighter is on the ropes but the winner gets disqualified for a low blow. Hannity, Levin, it was so unnecessary; you had the guy beat fair and square, but you got low instead of staying on the high road. |

Personally, I applaud Sean for taking on this arrogant punk. Baldwin makes insane comments regularly and no one challenges him on it. Hannity did. Good for him.
I’ll let everyone else here pontificate about Sean using insults. I’m sure the good people here at Q and O would NEVER insult someone who called them a "no talent hack" before an audience of millions. |

Baldwin is a hack. He reads other people’s writing fairly well, but on his own, he’s useless.
Hannity is not quite a hack, nor a no-talent whore, but he’s not terribly bright either. I have to admit, I largely agree with Sean’s stance on most subjects, but to listen to his shallow reasonings is quite painful.
He has a 3 hour show, much of it made up of self-coined cliches. If he was prohibited from repeating himself, he’d only have about 1 hour of content! Hardly brilliant. He should take lessons from Medved, especially in the debate department.
There will never be a middle-of-the-road talk show. It would be boring, no one would listen; not even self proclaimed independents. |
