Dale notes that the border between Iran and Iraq is almost unpatrolable - "it’s almost impossible to secure, it’s just an imaginary line in the middle of hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of miles of desert".

It kinda reminds me of someplace else in the world, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. A little help, anyone?

And stopping a few hundred infiltrators in Iraq is a bit different than stopping hundreds of thousands untrained civilians wandering across the US-Mexico border. Larger numbers are, after all, much easier to spot.
