It’s about time. Now, perhaps, a compromise candidate can be nominated and confirmed and the government can move forward after almost 4 months of stalemate. IMPOSSIBLE, it’s a quagmire, of the quaggiest-type-mire...we’re doom, doomed I say...
This is just a prelude to a Civil War...Democracy is a process not an event...now they have to form a government, and then they have to govern and then they have to legalize gay marriage and then they have to have a Utopia for 10 years...then it might be possible that this war was OK. And after all that it’ll be time to say, "That’s all OLD history. Let’s move on."
OK the above will be trashed, and to an extent rightly so, but rest assured that this will not seen as good news, but merely the prelude to yet one more insurmountable obstacle for the "failing" effort in Iraq. |

Now that the Prime minister has stepped down, we must issue an ultimatum that a new government be finalized by May 25th, or else the United States will leave the country. If the Iraqi government is successful in this regard, then we must demand a session of Parliament before June 1st. Then they have to find Zarqawi by June 20th, or else we leave. Finally, President Bush must set a timetable for withdrawal by July or else he will have failed the American people again.
I have said this all along. I have consisantly shown this resolve and I have never wavered from my position. |

I stick with my original prediction, some troop movement out of Iraq by end of year, and a steady diminution of conflict. Its not that I think the administration is doing such a good Job, its just based on historical occupations. If you don’t pull out too quick you can always outlast the irregulars. That is if they don;t have the support of the populace, and the insurgents have steadily lost whatever support they had. |
