Rove: No indictment
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

I'm sure this will come as a complete surprise to Truthout.org and be an intense dissappointment to many on the left:
The prosecutor in the C.I.A. leak case on Monday advised Karl Rove, the senior White House adviser, that he would not be charged with any wrongdoing, effectively ending the nearly three-year criminal investigation that had at times focused intensely on Mr. Rove.
So it's over and we can concentrate our efforts on some of the other rings of the circus so kindly provided us by those we send to Washington DC to "represent" us.

Reality-based news, where good news is bad if its for the Republicans...

Wait, wait, I can almost hear it now.

This doesn’t prove that he didn’t do it, it only shows that there wasn’t enough evidence to prove that he did it.

Well, being pedantic, that is technically true. It has not been proved that he didn’t do it.

Of course that shouldn’t matter. The simple fact is that he has not been indicted, it looks almost certain that he won’t be indicted and since not indicted he won’t be tried. Hence following innocent until proven guily, the guy is innocent; case closed.

Somehow though I find it difficult to believe that that will be the end of the matter. I think this will play on and on and on for a long time like so many other things before. -sigh-

Personally I think the whole thing will parallel the duke case. Public, painful self destruction of a once highly regarded prosecutor’s career.

Capt Joe,

Apparently, that character caused a bit of appalled reproach from his Kos peers as well. I think most Kossites realize that simpery whining is not the face to present to the electorate.

Yes, actually that character has a long history of giving similiar persanl teary anecdotes at specific political events. Always a tearjerker conversation with one of his/her daughters. Morbidly diabetic.

But, it made me laugh. There is always that. Even Iowahawk wouldn’t be able to get any more traction on that one.

Actually, CheChe’s comment is similiar to this one. Using children to prop up an argument seems common element.

Heh.
This is amusing. Fitzgerald is the grinch that stole Fitzmas.

What’s more amusing, is that we have all of the usual suspects: Joe, shark, capt. joe, Keith Indy… celebrating the fact that a good day for the administration is when a member of the administration is not indicted.

But by all means…

Don’t be hatin’ pogue.

Actually I was celebrating the long overdue death of a ridiculous story.

Whatever the past of the whole Plame thing, you seen to forget the breathless announcement of this "Rove get Indicted" story by Truthout (in 100 pt type).

Frankly the original story did not pass any sort of credibility test whatsoever. We have a multiply disgraced ex journalist (Leopold) reporting on a second rate conspiracy site. Most of the leftosphere swallowed it whole (including normally sensible Jeralyn Merritt). All it needed was Lucy Ramirez and a lake to complete it.

It became more and more unbelievable as the days went on.

I, for one, am glad that a nail has been put in this silly story.

Sorry to harsh your mellow man. I knew you guys were wishing for the big one, better luck next time.

Hey, man. No hatin’ here.

Actually I was celebrating the long overdue death of a ridiculous story.
Like I said, dance the night away. But be aware, last call is Jan. 8, 2007. Then you’ll have to wake up to reality and suffer this hangover all over again.

Sorry to harsh your mellow man. I knew you guys were wishing for the big one, better luck next time.
No ruffling of my feathers, for I have no dog in this fight. And much like McQ with Haditha, I’ll reserve judgment until after the trial.

Pogue - nope, you’ve got it all wrong.

Any day where the news is not as predicted by or favorable for the left is a day to wear a smirk.

Because really, that’s all it’s doing for me. Worth a chuckle because all the lefties are going bonkers over not getting their arch-enemy. Drat, foiled again.

Soooo, you believe Jason Leopold original story (which hasn’t changed by the way, only got more strident and desparate)?

That’s all I am asking. The rest I don’t care much about.

I can only speak for myself, but I’m celebrating the fact that:

1) Lots of people are looking mighty stupid right now after they did a LOT of talking
2) I’m also reveling in the abject anger and dejection of those who didn’t get their Fitzmas wish......and it sounds like you’re one of them Pogue.

Lump of coal in your Fitzmas stocking eh?
