Michael Moore plans a follow-up to Fahrenheit 9/11, his hit documentary that assails President Bush over the handling of the Sept. 11 attacks and the war on terrorism, according to a Hollywood trade paper.

Moore told Daily Variety that he and Harvey Weinstein, the Miramax boss who produced the film, hope to have Fahrenheit 9/11 ready in two to three years.

"Fifty-one percent of the American people lacked information (in this election) and we want to educate and enlighten them," Moore was quoted in Thursday's edition of Variety. "They weren't told the truth. We're communicators and it's up to us to start doing it now."

Uh huh.

Well, you see Michael, although it was a film full of outright lies, exaggerations, fabrications, and some abject stupidity, "Fahrenheit 9/11" was at least "fresh" to use the parlance. It had a time and a place, both of which have now passed.

So please, try, try again. But understand that since your first attempt at swaying an election failed so dismally, its probably safe to say your second attempt will meet the same fate ... only with much lower attendance figures and much less attention paid to it.

But there's a silver lining in all of this. You'll again make yourself available for another backlash against your garbage in 2008.

He's going to release it in 2006. Just in time for Congressional elections that year.

This bit of news, coupled with the news earlier in the week that Kerry is thinking of running again, leads me to believe that the Dems really haven't learned their lesson yet.
