Posted by: Dale Franks on Monday, July 31, 2006 For the first time in more than a decade, the San Diego Gay Pride Festival was marked by violent attacks on attendees. Three assailants, bearing baseball bats and a knife, fell upon three attendees of the event in separate attacks, injuring them all, and leaving one man with severe head injuries, which, fortunately, he is expected to survive. It should go without saying that this type of criminal behavior deserves harsh punishment. Not only do I hope the police find them expeditiously, but when they are found, I hope they use their baseball bats and knife to try and resist arrest, thus giving the cops an opportunity to dispense a little "street justice". Not that the professional and highly trained officers of the San Diego Police Department would ever do such a thing, of course. |
