Pelosi unknown ... but effective?
Posted by: McQ on Wednesday, September 06, 2006

Jonathan Singer, over at MyDD entitles his post "GOP Tactic of Maligning Pelosi Failing". He then leads with:
Republicans have been up on the air in a number of congressional districts around the country trying to paint Democratic canididates as excessively liberal and too close of allies of House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi — a San Francisco liberal. Leaving aside the fact that being labeled a "Democrat" in this political environment would probably help, more than hurt most candidates, new polling from Quinnipiac University finds that Pelosi is largely unknown by the electorate.
I got a huge laugh out of that, frankly. The GOP is "failing" because no one knows who she is? Gee, do you suppose, then, that the ongoing Pelosi "road show" might be failing as well ... I mean if no one knows who she is and all?

Just a thought.

Perhaps another reason that the electorate is failing to be sufficiently alarmed by (what I heard some numb-nut saying during the msnbc electoral preview marathon today, but really do not remember who or when)"the scariest words in politics":
"Third in Line Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi"
Is because, in fact. those are only the third scariest words in politics. The second scariest words in politics are:
Third in line Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert
And of course the actual scariest words in politics were:
Third in line Speaker of the House Tom Delay
