Jon gets a mention in WaPo
Posted by: McQ on Monday, September 18, 2006

And no, he didn't drop me an email and ask me to mention it (and, in fact, probably wishes I'd missed seeing it completely). I happened upon the link on another blog (HT: National Journal's Beltway Blogroll "Buzz Columns"). Yes, Jon is all the "buzz".

Short excerpt:
Together, the Webb and Allen campaigns are transforming the image of the independent blogger, clicking away on his own dime from his basement. And they are pushing the boundaries of federal campaign finance laws as blogs that once were personal diaries have come to resemble full-blown campaign operations that don't have to be reported as expenses.

The goal of the paid bloggers, both campaigns say, is to deluge online political journals with positive tidbits about their candidate and draw attention to the most negative news about their opponent. The campaign bloggers sometimes write their own bits. Other times, they spread gossip generated by others.

"We just feel like if the left is going to run rampant, we have to respond in some way," said Chad Dotson, one of the new pro-Allen bloggers and the prosecutor in Wise County. "We decided enough is enough. It's something we should have done before."

Jon Henke, Allen's new blog guru, said he will try to do in the eight weeks until the Nov. 7 election what Democrats have been doing online for months in Virginia. "Our goal is to engage the blogosphere to get our message out," he said.
"Blog guru". Ooooo.

Just kidding. Heh ...

So far, though, Jon appears to have been quite effective for the Allen campaign which seems to have been in need of such help.

Disclaimer: I'm not the new media coordinator for anyone but myself (for which most of the known world is thankful).

And Pogue.

Because Pogue needs all the help the boy can get.

So go! Read Pogue's 13 day old post about scuffed balls or scuffing your balls or something. Help a fella out.

Does this attention mean Jon’s fee for posting here goes up? You guys do work on commission, right? Heh.

You bet.

HUGE freakin’ commissions!

Enough to treat your sweetie to a McDonald’s breakfast at least once a quarter. ;)

Heh ... given the nature of the job, I’d imagine there are times he feels like howling at the moon and taking a head or two off.

Thanks, McQ.
Uhh…. That was… uhh…

Generous.
Did I just get slapped???
Reminds me of a time I was outside a pub in Brisbane when I got punched and I didn’t know about it till the next day. Hey, that’s a funny story. I should write that down, now that I’m thinking about it.

BTW, I’ve busy at work so that’s why no new posts until today.

Cheers.

++++++++++++

And kudos to Jon.
I don’t particularly care for Allen. (and no, it has nothing to do with maccaca, or whatever. Personally, I don’t care if he’s a racist. It’s not like if re-elected he could implement any racist policies without getting his ass handed to him. I don’t live in Virginia, anyway.)
But, it’s good to see Jon getting attention. And maybe he might have positive influence re: Allen.

Cheers.

Thanks, McQ.
Don’t mention it pal. I am nothing if not scrupulous in my duties to you as your "new media coordinator".

Right now I figure I need to coordinate your biggest need of the moment.

Readers.

Once we get those, we’ll work on priority 2.

New material.

Not that I don’t think ball scuffing isn’t charming, but 13 days, Pouge ...13 days.

Thanks, man. I’m going to use that, too.
Céilidh Cowboy’s “new media coordinator”, QandO’s one and only, McQ! [applause];)

You’re right. I’ve thought about that to a great extent.
I thought I was going right with “You are not allowed to “scuff” your balls.”
You see, I published not one… but two photographs of Muslims burning effigies. Now I thought for sure that it would garner the attention of Malkin or somebody. But to no avail. I guess I need to publish more pictures of Muslims burning stuff.
Or maybe I’ll just do a post on Lindsey Lohan. That’ll get my google numbers up.

This blogging stuff is hard.

I know, I know.
Look, there was the beginning of football season, there was a bachelor party… on one of those days, and then there was that day that my septic system backed-up (total nightmare).

I’ll do better in the future. But thanks again for the recognition, truly appreciated.

Cheers.

Look out, Jon. The MSM has you now. Oh, first they’ll wine you and dine you. But next thing you know, they’ll be calling your .png’s "jpeg’s", and making bad analogies with your last name, and asking you all kinds of hard q-

Well, two out of three maybe.
