Last gasp of a departing loon
Posted by: McQ on Saturday, December 09, 2006

As expected:
In what was likely her final legislative act in Congress, outgoing Georgia Rep. Cynthia McKinney introduced a bill Friday to impeach President Bush.

The legislation has no chance of passing and serves as a symbolic parting shot not only at Bush but also at Democratic leaders. Incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has made clear that she will not entertain proposals to sanction Bush and has warned the liberal wing of her party against making political hay of impeachment.
Not only is it likely her final legislative act, it may be one of the only legislative acts she's offered at all in her two separate Congressional sojourns ... which actually makes me a bit conflicted since honestly, I actually prefer legislators who are essentially inactive when it comes to introducing legislation (of the obvious kind) and prefer to spend their time holding hearings in some sub-basement on Capital Hill concerning the conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11.

What will we do for entertainment after Cynthia leaves?

(pause)

Oh, wait, that's right, the Dems come to power in January.

Nevermind.

I love Cynthia, as I’ve said before. Good woman, makes men like McQ skeered. Too strong, too strong!

I now use you, McQ as my moral compass.

Whatever direction you go, I go d’udder way.

Keep up the great work. Think I’ll send her some more money, just for giggles.

Poor cons. No more Cynthia bashing. I guess Mark Fol...er..Barney "Fag" is next on your collective spittle hit-list, hmmm??

Typical; she is spot on with her bill. Went down swinging as a real patriot fighting the dirty status quo.(it took her own party campaigning against her, twice, to finally keep her out, for chrissakes!)

Laugh, loser. I care not for your scorn.

Rick Day -
quack quack
Thank you for that.

Based on your use of McQ as a moral compass (you being for everything he’s against, and vice versa), and looking at his recent posts, I see you’re:

* in favor of less individual freedom (and allowing the government to decide what you can and can’t eat),
* against freedom of association,
* against honoring Medal of Honor recipients,
* for the militarization of the police,
* for no-knock raids that get old ladies killed (and for covering up afterwards),
* for shouting down and assaulting those fellow Americans whose political opinions don’t match one’s own, and
* in favor of making the entire Muslim world our enemies.

Waste your time elsewhere, would you? You won’t persuade anyone here.

And I love it when Rick shows up. He makes MK look sane, Cindy B knowledgeable and Book Adams seem a veritable saint.

Bill Clinton lied about a collateral matter in a civil lawsuit that involved conduct prior to his assuming the presidency. Scores of GOP House and Senate members voted in favor of impeachment or conviction. Many of these same GOP members continue to serve today.

One single Democrat introduces legislation to impeach Bush based, at least in part, on alleged violations of domestic surveilance laws that - if it could be a criminal prosecution - would get him indicted in a heartbeat.

If McKinney is a loon, then there are dozens of current GOP members of Congress who should be in a straitjacket.

Admit it: if a Dem were in Bush’s shoes, every single GOP’er would have voted to impeach a long time ago.

OK, maybe I overstated that a bit ...

When someone, such as yourself, who whoreheartedly backed our invasion of Iraq and believed that Bush as a commander in chief was capable of achieving "victory," starts to talk about who is sane and who isn’t, we are all in trouble.

No offense, McQ, but you have been wrong over the past few years about just about everything.

Better stick to your day job.

I love when my opponents say, "No offense, but..." and then go right on insulting someone. Just like people who say things like, "Sorry, but you’re an idiot." I love it because it’s a giant red flag for who’s petty and immature, and when an opponent says it, it tells everyone that they can take that person a little less seriously from now on.

And McQ, seriously, why wrestle with pigs? The mud doesn’t look any better on you than it does on them.

How very truly odd that I do not see the words "while under oath" in the above quote.

A quote from a person supposedly oh-so-skilled in the legal profession.

Mk,

What does "whoreheartedly" mean? As stated by you in this context:
When someone, such as yourself, who whoreheartedly backed our invasion of Iraq ...
You certainly have a way with words. I will grant you that.

Wrestling?

A quip or two isn’t wrestling, Ornery.

All right, granted, but whatever you’re doing, you still get a bit dirty and the pigs seem to enjoy it.

Since Bush authorized warentless surveillance, which violates the 4th amendment and the FISA law, shouldn’t he be impeached? Are you so loyal to Bush that you would rather defend him than the Constitution?

Yeah, that’s settled isn’t it?

Look,if you think you have the legal goods on him go press it in DC. I think what you’ll find is that while there are lots of opinions, the fall on both sides of guilt or innocence and regardless, making a case against Bush isn’t the snap of the fingers you seem to think it is.

But hey, if you’re as fanatic as you seem, that shouldn’t stop you.

The impeachment bill doesn’t make her a loon. Requesting a federal investigation into the death of 2 pac makes her a loon.
