Somehow the Moderate Voice has jumped to about 6000 votes. Me thinks something is afoot. |

I’m beginning to wonder myself. Just like the blog who passed us yesterday. From 6th to 4th with a 200 vote turnaround in a single day from a blog which averages 280 visits a day?
Somethin’s up. |

"Awards" like this are just hit- and attention-generating tools to sell advertising. I don’t think anybody takes these seriously, nor should they. They’re fun for newbie bloggers, but they’re best ignored by the rest. |

Jon, it is way too late to start saying something like that without a little smiley face thingy. ;)
Something like that.
If this keeps up, I may have to go elsewhere. I do not hang around with non-winners.(would electorally challenged sound better?)

This way when you see how much you lose by in the end you can simply point to how above it all you were all along. ;-)
I have voted for you guys everyday but it seems somewhat pointless at this stage. My only consolation is that Althouse is losing after declaring that she wanted to ’crush’ The Moderate Voice. Not, as Jon points out, that any of this matters, but it’s a nice 5 minute distraction from the working day... |

It’s not a simple matter, one has to weigh up the pros and cons and not blindly rush into things. Where voting is concerned it’s important to appreciate the subtle nuance that seperate the candidates and only then tick the appropriate box. Only a complete understanding of the issues arms one to make an informed choice over something as important as this. You think I am going to vote for QandO just because it is the only blog on there that I read everyday and enjoy? Sheesh! ;-) |

You think I am going to vote for QandO just because it is the only blog on there that I read everyday and enjoy? Well, if I haven’t said it recently or at all, thanks, we appreciate you very much as both a reader and a commenter (and yes, I know you weren’t trolling for a complement, but hey, we really do appreciate you). |

Hey y’all, just wanted to poke my head in here and congratulate you for such a great showing in the polls for such a great and deserving blog :-)
As for our daily visits, I’m not sure what is up with SiteMeter; we average anywhere from 1,000 to 2,000 visits per day @ the GTL according to our official stats from our web host. The real reason why I suspect both we and The Moderate Voice had huge turnarounds were because of some direct endorsements both of us received by some fairly high profile, high-traffic bloggers. Irregularities? Who knows, perhaps; which is why I would have prefered paper balloting in this thing ;-)
To me, this has all been great fun, and I’m glad to be involved in the contest, if for no other reason than for the fact I’ve discovered some great blogs I’d not noticed before such as this one. Welcome to my blogroll, y’all, and kudos to you all for what you are doing over here :-)
Blog ONNNN!!!!

I want to make it clear that I’m not accusing you of anything GTL. It’s just odd the way the vote has gone ... a clear pattern for 5 or 6 days, a 200 vote swing and then back to the pattern. And your blog wasn’t the only one which had these sorts of surges (TMV and others suddenly suddenly saw surges as well).
As to official stats, our server stats, we’ve ranged from about 32,000 to 54,000 visits per day (and 17,000 to 32,000 unique visitors a day) this past week.
Anyway, best of luck to you as well. |

One of the benefits of these competitions is you become aware of and get to read new blogs, yours being one of them. Let me return the compliments and say I’ve enjoyed reading it, have added it to my Google reader and will see if we can get you on our blogroll as well. |

OK ... this is BS.
We just jumped 35 votes in a matter of a minute to now be in a tie with GTL.
Something is going on. |
