You Can’t Do That On Television...

At least, not in the United States. In Germany, however, standards are apparently looser, judging from this commercial from the German Optometrists' Association. It's called "Brille Nötig?" (Need Glasses?), and it's hilarious, but would pull literally millions of dollars in fines from the FCC every time it was shown in America.

Also, this ad from Berlitz Language Schools shows how important it is to speak a foreign language. It's pretty damn funny, too.

You’re right, you can’t do this in the United States. I tried loading it into both IE and FireFox, and both yielded nothing but a blue "Q" with a superimposed question mark.

Gets me nothing but the homepage with the list of videos on it. The Spontex video, the first one on the list, is pretty much FCC bait also, though.

Oddly enough, if I click on the address bar in IE7 while at the link and then click enter without actually changing anything in the address bar, then the video plays.

I got them both, but they took a long time. They were both funny. At the risk of being indelicate, I would say that the first video raises questions of not only bad eye sight, but of a lack of(to abuse a culinary term) "mouth feel". Either she is lacking sensitivity or he needs to see a dermatologist. Either way, I do not give the relationship much chance of lasting. Perhaps, though, I am in error, and it is innocence, but I rather doubt it.
