Appointed by President Clinton as the Ambassador to the UN, Bill Richardson worked with world leaders to build alliances and help prevent the development of nuclear weapons in North Korea. Don’t know that I’d cite as an accomplishment the suppression of the NK nuke program if I were Richardson... |

It’s my understanding that Richardson has a "woman problem." Whether that’s actually a big enough problem to block his bid is anybody’s guess. Depends on whether he can manage the Clintonesque disarming charm, I guess.

Well I can promise you that the Clinton in the race will have no problem disclosing that "woman problem" if Richardson becomes a problem. |

Richardson would likely be the best executive of the bunch and his best chance of success may be the mutual destruction between the Senators.
I don’t think Hillary’s negatives can be overcome, and call me pessimistic about the intellect of the American electorate, but I think something as silly as his middle name will sink Obama. Joe Biden is my favorite Senator, but I am doubtful he can win the primaries, though I think he could do well in the general election.
I would be happy with the frontrunners being Richardson and Biden when the primaries hit full steam.

Joe Biden is my favorite Senator, Neil Kinnock’s, too.....but I am doubtful he can win the primaries, though I think he could do well in the general election. If by well you mean he takes Del., NY, Massachsusetts, MN, and CA. Heck he might even win if there is a market for pompous-cut’n run plagiarizers.
But he gives great speech and if he’d just give us the Cliff notes of his speeches we could all follow along in Bartlett’s or in Speeches that Shaped the 20th C. |

pompous-cut’n run plagiarizers Tell me your favorite candidate, and I’ll show you a candidate who’s speeches are written by SOMEONE ELSE. Biden credited Kinnock for the speech he gave on numerous occasions, and on one occasion failed to do so... the plagiarism thing is pure gutter politics... suits you.
I’ll bet you refer to Obama as "Hussein" too.
As for pompous... Biden appears to be the LEAST pompous of all the candidates. Confident, sure, arrogant, maybe, but pompous???Controversy broke Biden’s candidacy for the U.S. presidency in the 1988 Presidential campaign. He was found to have plagiarized a speech from British Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock. The speech included adaptation of some details of Kinnock’s life which were not true in Biden’s case. For example, Biden’s speech recast Kinnock’s words to say, “Why is it that Joe Biden is the first in his family ever to go to a university? My ancestors, who worked in the coal mines in northeast Pennsylvania and who would come up after twelve hours and play football for four hours? It’s not because they weren’t as smart. It’s not because they didn’t work as hard. It was because there was no platform on which they could stand.” After Biden withdrew from the race, it was learned that he had correctly credited Kinnock on other occasions but failed to do so in an Iowa speech that was recorded and distributed to reporters by aides to Michael Dukakis, the eventual nominee. Dukakis fired the senior aide responsible, but the damage had already been done to Biden. [7] [8]
It had also been alleged that Biden had plagiarized while in law school 20 years earlier in a first-year legal-writing class. Unaware of appropriate standards for legal briefs at the beginning of his legal training, Biden used a single footnote rather than multiple citations required to cite five pages from a legal article. Both Syracuse University Law School and the Delaware State Bar Association cleared Biden of plagiarism charges. |

By "Clinton Democrat" you mean a Democrat whose every leftist impulse will be thwarted by a conservative congress, hence saving him from himself? In today’s political environment there is no such thing. Even Bill Clinton, if he were constitutionally able to be re-elected, wouldn’t be a Clinton Democrat anymore. |

Richardson’s record as Sec. of Energy wasn’t all that inspiring, either. For example;
"His tenure at Energy was marred by the Wen Ho Lee nuclear espionage scandal. In July 2005 it was alleged by a Federal judge that Richardson had leaked Lee’s name to reporters months before the scientist was charged with any crime.[4] Richardson was also sharply criticized by the Senate for his handling of the espionage enquiry. During Senate questioning, Senator Robert Byrd (Democrat-West Virginia) scolded Richardson, stating: "You’ve ...shown a contempt of Congress that borders on a supreme arrogance... You will never again receive the support of the Senate of the United States for any office to which you might be appointed.""

"Biden credited Kinnock for the speech he gave on numerous occasions, and on one occasion failed to do so... the plagiarism thing is pure gutter politics... suits you."
So there, Joe! I guess that is will teach you what happens when you rely on the mainstream media like the Washington Post...those gutter rats.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/clinton/frenzy/biden.htm
"Joseph Biden’s Plagiarism; Michael Dukakis’s ’Attack Video’ – 1988 Democratic presidential candidate Joseph R. Biden Jr., a U.S. senator from Delaware, was driven from the nomination battle after delivering, without attribution, passages from a speech by British Labor party leader Neil Kinnock. A barrage of subsidiary revelations by the press also contributed to Biden’s withdrawal: a serious plagiarism incident involving Biden during his law school years; the senator’s boastful exaggerations of his academic record at a New Hampshire campaign event; and the discovery of other quotations in Biden’s speeches pilfered from past Democratic politicians."
And of course the gutter politicians of the Dukakis campaign;
http://www.famousplagiarists.com/politics.htm#biden
"In closing his speech, Biden took Kinnock’s ideas and language as if they were his very own inspired thoughts, prefacing Kinnock’s ideas with the phrase “I started thinking as I was coming over here . . . “. Little did Biden suspect that video footage of this speech would be spliced together with footage of Kinnock’s speech in an “attack video” which would be distributed by members of the Dukakis campaign."
Of course the line "I started thinking as I was coming over here..." kind of makes it seem a little more than innocently forgetting to credit the words to someone else; the whole effect would be ruined, don’t you think? More; "Biden initially denied any wrongdoing, claiming that this was just an inadvertent lack of acknowledgement. Yet there were other instances of rhetorical borrowing from speeches made by Robert F. Kennedy and Hubert Humphrey. And the fact that Biden had given other speeches using the Kinnock passages without acknowledgment suggested that the lifting was more than just an inadvertent oversight."
Wasn’t this also the year guttersnipe Gore introduced the world to Willy Horton?
Compare Kinnock to Biden; http://nutsandbolts.washcoll.edu/plagiarism.html

"Joseph Biden’s Plagiarism; Michael Dukakis’s ’Attack Video’ – 1988 I am not sure what your point is here, that Democrats can be vicious in attacking rivals?
Are you suggesting that Biden IS a plagiarist, because that story has been thoroughly debunked, by all both the attackers, the attackee, and the newspaper that wrote the story.
But again, someone that runs with unsubstantiated like you do, I understand tactic, if it makes someone you don’t like look bad, who cares if it’s true.
