First of all I’m a dedicated listener of your podcast – and a happy one (until now at least!!!) But I have to say the last podcast was (for the most part) a bunch of BS!
The reason why I (until now) have bin so fund of your podcast is that you are NOT Republican Partisan Soldiers but true libertarians. Obviously you are more aliened with (most) Republicans on the issues, but you have never bin afraid of criticizing neither republicans nor democrats for that matter.
But the last podcast was pathetic; Sister Toldjah was obviously blinded by her opinions. She kept saying “…you simply can’t trust democrats” and the ONLY time she had any positive thing to say about Democrats was when she said that “…Obama is genuinely looking” – in contrast to Edwards of course! – As being a Democrat/liberal makes you more dishonest and a “naturally borne” flip-flop! And being a Republican (which, in the mind of Sister Toldjah obviously is the exact equivalent of being a conservative/libertarian) makes you honest and trustworthy.
In my opinion most politicians is (at time) being dishonest and “naturally borne” flip-flops because it is necessary for their ambition for power and influence. That has nothing to do with being neither conservative/liberal nor Republican/Democrat. The best example of that are the Bush administration and the Republican Congress spending over the last couple of years. And now (after the defeat in the congress) they are all talking about fiscal responsibility and controlling pork-spending.
One thing is that Sister Toldjah is a one minded ignorant! But you gays simply didn’t challenge her ridicules comments; no, you actually supported her all the way!
I simply had to make this post; but at the end of the day your podcast IS good (for the most part) and I’ll be listening next week.

Jon — appreciate your point but we’re trying to get a little more diversity of opinion in our podcasts. We’re also trying to get someone from the left to come on and discuss issues with us. What a guest has to say is their opinion, as, I’m sure, you’re well aware.
That doesn’t mean we necessarily agree with all they say, but we respect their right to say and and it does make for a much more lively and diverse discussion than always having someone from the echo chamber.
We certainly hope you’ll continue to listen and understand the intent. BTW, Billy Hollis, one of our new bloggers, and a libertarian, will be our guest this coming podcast. Hope you’ll listen in. |
