Classic line of the day

Found on The Influence Peddler:
I was told yesterday that Iranian President Mahmood Ahmadinejad has a blog. I didn't believe it until I searched and found it myself. Am I a latecomer to this?

Strangely, Ahmadinejad seems friendlier toward Christians than the much-discussed Amanda Marcotte. (I wonder if John Edwards can hire him as the campaign blogger).
And yes, I'm still cleaning coffee off the screen.

I’m glad I wasn’t drinking anything myself when I read that.

Classic.

McQ,

I don’t know if anyone’s still paying attention to the "Loose Change" thread below, but I really like this line (my emphasis):
Only a pinheaded snipe would deign conflate the reality of global warming with the myth of 9/11 conspiracy. You oil company shills are really getting desparate, aren’t you? Not to worry — no one is paying attention to you any more. You’re just engaged in one big circle jerk with an ever-diminishing number of flat earthers.
And some Truther owes me a new irony meter, ’cause mine just blew up.

I saw that and cackled. Yup, no one’s paying attention which is why a flock of crackpots spent and entire day unsuccessfully trying to defend "Loose Change" (and are back today).

Like I said, they almost beat out the Scientologists. And I agree that the pound the crap out of the old irony meter.

Physics? What’s Physics?
Boy, no kidding. And kudos to you, looker, and Steverino and others ... you handed it to them.

Just goes to show, given the arguments, how poorly we teach critical thinking anymore.

Thanks, McQ!

I like to tell Kennedy Conspiracy buffs that my best argument against conspiracies in general is the existence of consiracy theorists.

In the case of the Kennedy assassination,we’ve had quite literally thousands of people poring over every conceivable piece of evidence for more than 40 years, and they stll haven’t found anything more than inuendo.

After a while, an objective observer would conclude that if they haven’t found anything, there’s nothing to be found.

Of course, the best way to deal with most conspiracy theorists is to use physics and common sense :)

I drove home last night trying to decide if it was worth asking them whether or not they understood the higher you raised concrete/steel/glass/wiring/pipes/office chairs/desks/etc, whether or not the energy stored was the same as if you had it sitting on the ground and whether or not they thought it would be the same at 10 feet as at 20 feet and so on.

I reviewed the videos yesterday, despite not having looked at that since the day it happened.
How they can think the lower floors were going to ’stop’ the upper floors downward motion is beyond me.

I did notice one didn’t know how he DID expect it to look, but he did know it didn’t look right the way it happened.
errrrrrrr, yeah.....
Thanks, by the way, yeah, we tried.

"Physics? What’s Physics?"

"Noun
S: (n) purgative, cathartic, physic, aperient (a purging medicine; stimulates evacuation of the bowels)"
http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=physic

And, since "physics" is plural, you had best keep a safe distance. Appropriate, though, eh?

Between the comments Ahmadinejad gets, and the comments in the link on the Al Qaeda thread, it really leads you to believe that a lot of moonbats really are on the other side. I realize we are only talking about a few commentors here, but I have to assume they are representative of those who haven’t found these sites . . .

Seriously though - would you guys sign the petition to ban DiHydrogen MonOxide? It really is pretty bad stuff.

DiHydrogen MonOxide isn’t so bad if you mix it with the right spirits.

As W.C. Fields said, "I never drink water. Fish f*** in it."

My favorite was Barry FitzGerald in "The Quiet Man"

"Could you use a little water in your whiskey?"
"When I drink whiskey, I drink whiskey. And when I drink water, I drink water".

Probably would have lost something if he’d tried that with "DiHydrogen Monoxide".

I see Don’s still fighting the good fight back on the Global Warming post.

I find it entertaining, though I’m sure many do not, that the Upstate New York, and now many parts of the Midwest are being buried under Global Warming(tm) at the moment.

I did the best I could, but it was like trying to light up the Grand Canyon with a flashlight. You can’t be that stupid by nature, it has to come after years of studying.

Yes, willful stupidity as opposed to the standard variety, coupled with a severe case of BDS.

Too much time spent watching movies like "Enemy of the state" & "Manchurian candidate" (new version).

They’ll make great mob followers in the event of another crises.
Some of them will probably end up as night watchmen, reading books about UFO’s and passing out pamphlets on how you can successfully fight Income Tax collection by the IRS by simply telling them there’s no such law that allows them to do it.

I’d rather argue with Erb.

Couldn’t help it. Had to reiterate the point that, once started, the pancaking theory explains the results.

Wait a sec guys, I think it’s time we realized who really did have advanced knowledge of the 9/11 attacks.

I keep trying to tell my bartender that, but he keeps trying to pollute my beverages anyway.

"DiHydrogen MonOxide isn’t so bad if you mix it with the right spirits."

Sacrilege! Any spirit worth drinking shouldn’t be contaminated with that other substance.

"As W.C. Fields said, "I never drink water. Fish f*** in it.""

I actually know a guy who never drinks water. He is 92. Maybe Fields was right.
