House caves on tax breaks for business Posted by: McQ

After all the caterwalling by House Democrats about a "clean" minimum wage bill with no tax breaks for small business, they quietly voted yesterday 360-45 to accept a Senate Republican proposal which gives small business those breaks.
In reality, the breaks aren't much at all (1.8 billion over 10 years) while the impact of this economically stupid but politically valuable boost in the minimum wage will be felt among those who can afford it the least.
However, politically, it is worthwhile noting that it was Dems who ceded the fight for a change, not Republicans.
