Doesn’t that depend on which socks he has on today? I don’t really understand the whole sock puppet fascination w.r.t. Greenwald - as if whatever he happens to be saying is somehow diminshed.
That said, I find him not so good on general "politics" issues, he should stick to the law. |

It has become more of a running joke now, but as far as I’m concerned, it is a reflection of his integrity, or lack thereof, at the very least.That said, I find him not so good on general "politics" issues, he should stick to the law. And I pretty much agree with your assessment in that regard as well. |

It is not fascination, it is ridicule, an attempt to deal with one of the most dishonest members of the blogosphere without getting too heavy all the time. Fun, amusing, whatever.
Given the outlandish things he accuses other people of he can hardly complain. Making fun of him for something he did is certainly better than accusing people of wanting mass murder (for one example of his many slanders.) Of course, maybe I am missing something and he is really just joshing around. If so, I retract several of my posts and volunteer for instruction on appreciating humor, or at least recognizing it is intended as such.
It does diminish him, because it shows his rather venal nature, something that always has to be kept in mind as his deceptions are often cleverly hidden.
The fact is, he is a paranoid, dishonest, lying, huckster. Sock Puppetry is unimportant, but it is funny and illustrative.
I would watch his legal analysis as well. He uses the same techniques to lure the unwary on those topics as well, it is just harder for non-lawyers to catch him.

I teach middle school students. As long as I throw in some reference to a bodily function per day they stay happy. So far I’ve managed to avoid sexual references like the one above, but it’s hard (sorry) not to think about them when you throw them out there. |
