Why is anyone surprised? This is just another of a long line of media love affairs with tyrants. During the twentieth century, it was Lenin, and Stalin for the Left, Hitler and Mussolini, for the Right. After World War Two, add Castro, Guevara and now Chavez.
Why tyrants fascinate those who they would butcher is beyond me. There seem more to the media fascination than Joe Friday’s “Just the fact’s ma’am.” It looks like a love affair with anyone who opposes this country, it’s values and it’s leadership. |

I’m with Mr. Fish. I simply cannot comprehend how anyone can be so over-awed by these despots like Chavez. Is it just that they are tyrants in their own hearts and admire someone who has to guts to carry his secret tyrannical wishes into action? |
