Why go to the Milblog Conference when you can eat tofu with Joe Wilson?

At a safehouse? What on earth do they need with a safehouse? It’s really a shame self-importance isn’t a fatal disease.

Joe Wilson should’ve been hung for treason...

OK, I give up. Why is shipping for this "item" $15 by UPS? How do you ship a safehouse?

You do realize, of course, that the anti-Wilson opinion of some in the blogosphere and talk radio is not shared by most people. For a large number, Wilson is a hero. I’m in the middle. He’s not as great as the left considers him, and not the demon the right paints him to be. I try to be realistic rather than partisan in my assessments.

This is just more proof that Wilson had an agenda with his trip and op-ed collum, denouncing the Bush administration’s claim that Iraq was trying to buy Uranium in Niger. A report by the Senate Select Intelligence Committee has discredited Wilsons public statement. Wilson worked with the Kerry campaign for a time and has been active in Democratic attacks against Bush and the Republicans. This fund-raiser Supporting Ethel Kennedy and The Robert F. Kennedy Memorial is further evidence of Wilsons ties to the Democratic Party.

We ought to take up a collection and send someone like Mark Levin. :)

For an even larger number, they really don’t care about the whole confused mess, much less remember his name.

I have no issue with a memorial to JFK. He was a decent enough president...

Jon, we should send Michelle Malkin... Her arriving on the dorrstep of the "safehouse" would cause Plame’s head to explode...

I believe that’s what Marilyn Monroe said. Historians are reevaluating the Kennedy presidency and as the aura of Camelot fades so does his reputation. Kennedy failed to support the Civil Rights movement although his brother, Robert, urged him to do so. Nikita Khrushchev though Kennedy was a “lightweight” giving him the confidence to place missals in Cuba, and Kennedy failed to get his legislative agenda through Congress. It took LBJ to do that. The Kennedy reputation has been built on his great charisma and his assassination in Dallas.

If smug were IQ, Joe Wilson would be the smartest man in the Universe.

Yes, that’s the vast majority. After the decision on Libby was out and Q and O folk were attacking Wilson I posted a probably too snide comment that essentially said, "Wilson won, deal with it." Then the response of many was to point me to a number of articles that questioned Wilson’s integrity. I then found another number of articles that defended Wilson and answered the attacks of the first group. I realized at that point Wilson had become larger than life. It didn’t matter to either side what the truth was, the truth is lost in the haze of charges, accusations, defenses and counter-charges. The fog of political war is such that he’s an object of partisan conflict more than a true subject by this point.

I criticize Kennedy because he was the first neo-conservative! The equivalent to my Masters Thesis was originally called "Apex of Hubris: Kennedy’s Grand Design." My advisor made me tone down the title a bit, but Kennedy’s policy vision led to Vietnam and its aftermath.

The only difference being that the 1st group had FACTS on their side, the 2nd group only partisian sniping.

There was a reason John Kerry dropped Joey Traitor like a hot potato

My theory on Wilson is, the whole matter was set up by those in the CIA that opposed Bush’s plan for Iraq. They wanted to discredit Bush and used Wilson to do it. The agencies top level probably didn’t even know about it. The CIA has done this before. Plame probably was outed by Armitage because of the perennial feud. between State and CIA.

We gave you the official conclusions of the Unites States and British governments on the matter, in the form of the US Senate Intelligence Committee report and the British Butler report. You responded by alluding to the existence of some websites that defended Wilson, without actually linking us up to them.

I think it is comical that you are portraying this now as if equivalent evidence was produced on both sides of the issue, or as if you somehow argued us to a draw on the point.

I can defend the innocence of Jeffery Dalmer if I choose. That has no relevance to his actual innocence. Opinion doesn’t trump fact, and the fact is Wilson lied in his op-ed piece. That lie was exposed by both the U.S. and British Governments. You can call a mouse an elephant, but that does not make it so.

And I don’t interpret those to mean anything close to justifying the level of personal attacks on Wilson. I’m not in the "Wilson is a hero camp" either. So we must simply disagree on this.

No doubt. Most people have no clue about the facts in the case.
