Great to hear that the handover is going so well. So... shouldn’t take more than a year to wrap things up then? |

Great to hear that the handover is going so well. So... shouldn’t take more than a year to wrap things up then? Does the term "conditions based" mean anything to you?
But don’t let me stop you, please. Do tell us, in your obviously expert opinion, the metrics you’re using which give you the confidence to assert that it will only take a year to wrap things up? |

Incredible! I had no idea this slide show was out there. No big surprise, as it graphically depicts growing success. Thanks for linking up to it, McQ. |

So, those are some neat light-green patches there showing "the iraqi army in the lead".
it’s great to know that the Iraqi army is in the lead in so many places!
Wait. What, precisely, does that mean? |

If I was a skeptic, I’d note that the provinces we’re handing over to Iraqi control look a lot like the ones that the British are pulling out of, i.e., the implication being that we haven’t had our own troops in there much for some time, and don’t have the spare men to slide over and pick up the slack.

And does the phrase,
"As the Iraqi’s stand-up, we’ll stand-down",
ring any bells? |

So your point is that the handover in Iraq is going great, but not so great that we won’t still be surging a year from now?
You show us a graphic that shows more and more Iraqi control and then you ask me to tell you why to be optomistic about wrapping it up quickly?
Does any of that seem right to you? |
