More interviews
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, May 08, 2007

One of the really nice outcomes of the trip to DC to attend the Milblogger's conference (besides meeting some really great people) was an opportunity presented to me by Matt Burden of Blackfive and Kevin Whalen of "Pundit Review Radio". Matt has had a feature on Blackfive called "Someone You Should Know" which highlights members of the military and what they do in the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is a segment which is done each Sunday night (from 7-10 pm EST on AM680 WRKO) out of Boston.

Matt has become a very busy man as you might imagine - a successful author and blogger - and is beginning graduate school very soon. So he and Kevin approached me at the conference to see if I'd be interested in doing that spot for the show in his place. The impetus for their asking me was the "Project Hero" series (which I will get going again) which QandO ran for so long.

Anyway, long story short, I accepted and am really looking forward to the opportunity. Matt leaves some large shoes to fill, but with Kevin's help, I'll do my best to do so. You'll find Kevin's interviews with me and Matt here along with some other interesting interviews he snagged at the Milbloggers conference (be sure to listen to the Ana Marie Cox interview (Wonkette/TIME)).
