Democratic centralism is the name given to the principles of internal organization used by Leninist political parties, and the term is sometimes used as a synonym for any Leninist policy inside a political party. The democratic aspect of this organizational method describes the freedom of members of the political party to discuss and debate matters of policy and direction, but once the decision of the party is made by majority vote, all members are expected to uphold that decision.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that Abu Gonzales is actually at fault here. Is he being hounded for partisan, political purposes like Reno was? Yes, she could have handled Waco better, but that’s not necessarily a firing offense. Subverting the Constitution at every possible turn and overseeing the politicization of the DOJ, however, as Gonzales has done, seems a bit more troubling in a "free" society.

finally learned from our beloved GOP
the trick of enforcing the party message!
We patriotic Americans
hang on to power because we know we
must not criticize our Great Leader -
even if he did turn the largest surplus
ever into the largest deficit ever
in three short year - even if he did
manage to turn victory against the
taliban into defeat everywhere -
even if the stock market is only now
barely above what it was 7 years ago -
even if his every checkable statement turns
out to be false - even if the "worst of
the worst" in Guantanamo turn out to be mostly
a bunch of ragtag goatherds who we then release
in the dark of night after years of holding
