I Need $15,000 by September
Posted by: Dale Franks on Saturday, May 19, 2007

I hate to ask this of all of you, but if you don't send me at least $15,000 by the end of September I will die.

I will die, because of my disappointment about not being able to have one of these.

The 2008 BRP Can Am Spyder Roadster

The 2008 BRP Can Am Spyder Roadster

This is the 2008 BRP Can Am Spyder Roadster. It has the same 106hp 998cc, DOHC Rotax V-Twin engine that the Aprilia MotoGP racing bikes use. It could go really fast, but, unfortunately, the electronics shut down the fun at 110mph.

Not that any of that is important, of course. My only interest in using it to commute in order to save fuel, and help save our precious, precious planet.

The really cool thing is that, since it has three wheels, it doesn't require a motorcycle license in California.

I already have $700 saved up, but it would really help if the rest of you would pony up some cash. Or else, I will die.

And it will be your fault.

At least you weren’t threatening to kill a rabbit...

I, however, will kill my pet cat if I am not given $15,000...

Do you want that blood on your hands, people?

Are you human beings, or monsters?

Yes but Dale, I can live with the ’guilt’ while you apparently will not. Ciao! :-)

I think it’d be cooler with the single wheel up front.

Thank the heavens for McQ, Billy, Bryan and even Jon.

Scott, speaking only for myself, I’d give you a buck if you killed your pet cat :)

Dale, does this craft need a motorcycle license to operate?

Ack, forgive the stupid question. This is what I get for skimming over posts before my eyes are fully opened :)

Like I was ever cool, Scott?

There’s nothing wrong with any cat that a good taxidermist can’t cure....

Rather have the Carver. Gets a roof and all.

Well, since it isn’t available in the US, and apparently won’t be for a while, that’s kind of a moot point.

And, it doesn’t really have any sort of motorcycle vibe, does it?

You could get $15k for that new truck, right?

650 cc, leans into corners, 3 wheels and is highly distinctive. Compares on odd to weird basis.

If so then perhaps you’d go for the Trigger.

Seriously, seen a homebuilt with a sportsbike rear end and a single seater racer type front end. A great concept for a toy.

He also wants to avoid getting beat up by the football team...

Shuts it down at 110?!? What idiot came up with that?

And how long do you think it’ll take for someone to bring out a replacement chip to take care of that?

Oh, quite quickly, one hopes.

The football team? I’d kick my own ass before I drove one of those.

That Trigger has a top speed of less than 30 mph. It’s a nice substitute for an old man’s golf cart driven around Leisure World, but not practical for the mean streets of So Cal.
