Someone You Should Know: CPL Robert J Mitchell Jr
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, May 29, 2007

When I prepare these stories for presentation on the "Someone You Should Know" segment of WRKO's "Pundit Review" radio show (Sunday nights 7-10), I have to practice them a number of times because, well, I have a tendency to get choked up. Just can't help it. What these young people do just has that effect.

So I have to practice over and over and over again just to make it through without that long obvious pause while I collect myself. Robert Mitchell was one of those guys who caused me to do a lot of practicing. He was previously featured in Project Hero. If you'd like to listen to his remarkable story, the latest "Someone You Should Know" segment from Pundit Review Radio is here.

Well done telling the incredible story about Cpl Mitchell, McQ. An entire film could be made from each and every one of these segments... they are that powerful.

I don’t think any amount of practice could get me through telling a single one.

God bless Cpl Mitchell and his fellow Marines.

Thanks Mary Ann ... but I have to tell you, I’d never be able to do what you do for our wounded in Germany. What you do is both incredible and much more powerful than anything I could ever say. God bless you and your wonderful work. You and Soldiers Angles are something special.

Please. Of course you could. Come over one of these days and prove it to yourself.

That’s an invitation.
