Apocalypto: The Blog Post
Posted by: McQ on Wednesday, May 30, 2007

Apparently the irony meter is in the shop over at the Democrat Daily:
‘The world is under a deadline.’ I know many people don’t want to think about it, or acknowledge it, But, it’s true and I’m not talking about the apocalypse or the Fundamentalist ‘end times’ theories… I’m talking about Climate Change and the eventual change of the face of the planet. The Earth, our Mother has been taxed and over taxed. We’ve heaped a heavy burden on her and now it’s time for all of us, to change our ways and pay back the debt.
Nah, nothing apocalyptic or fundamentalist about that paragraph. Or creepy. "The Earth, our Mother..."?

And you know you're riding a lame horse when you're reduced to quoting a fictional gladiator.
We all really need to start doing our part, because honestly, to quote Maximus in the Gladiator, “What we do in life echoes in eternity.” Call if trite if you must, but what we do now, will make a difference for our children and the future of our planet.
Ah ... for the children ... and mom.

And Maximus.

Syriana provides many more deep and introspective global warming messages than Galdiator. Right Scott?

Funny how they can bemoan the earth being taxed too much but not the ’evil rich’ TM. I’d love to see a post over there that reads...

"The Rich, ... has been taxed and over taxed. We’ve heaped a heavy burden on them and now it’s time for all of us, to change our ways and pay back the debt."

Prolly not gonna happen though.

Maximus - Maximus - Maximus - Maximus!!!!!! Strength and honor!

The problem is that this lunacy is starting to have really damaging results. Mexican farmers are ripping up agave to plant corn - it is like Al Gore is destroying Tequila.

Of course, there is only one solution. The devotees of the Mother Earth Goddess Cult must perform ritual hari-kari on a retreating glacier, first offering their children to the poor starving polar bears; secondly, those left will drink organically grown hemlock with just a touch of soy milk; and thirdly, with their last dying gasps, they will transform, via the internet, their liquidated worldly assests into carbon credits.

Then they will know the satisfaction previously known only to the crack suicide squad of the Judean Peoples Front.

Sorry you misunderstood Scott Jacobs. That snide remark was not meant for you! I meant to insult Professor Erb for his simpleton, ideologically laiden & ineffectual style of teaching. By the way if you ever wanted a reason to home school go read the Erb blog.

Did I do something to piss you off dude?

Why would you say that to me?

I mean, dayum. Did I eat your pet dog or something? Man.

*shakes his head*

I thought we were friends man... I thought we were friends...

As an aside, I’m very, very amused that Professor Erb’s blog doesn’t allow comments. That’s maybe the most telling thing about him yet. He’s an intellectual coward...

Actually, Scott, he is open to charges of cowardice in several areas.

He will have no problem with these charges. He invites them. So, no harm, no foul.

"go read the Erb blog."

Not without a court order. Once was enough. It’s too creepy. Building a "peace file" for your kids so they don’t get drafted? Weird.
