You’re right. I couldn’t stop. I even knew what was going to happen yet I still sat on the edge of my chair.
Bless Yon. Why can’t all the MSM be like him? |

Because in order to do that you have to get out among all of this and live with it for a while instead of just observing it for more than a few hours. |

Really flies in the face of the total failure mantra. Just goes to show the level of pride and ingenuity that comes from a volunteer, highly mobile, small footprint force. I would bet that more of these positive outcome conflicts are happening than negative ones. |

McQ, I meant more of "tell it like it is, not how you want it to be". Yon has told as much negative as he has positive. I’m sure in his heart he wants Iraq to be successful but he doesn’t color his commentary with his own hopes. Or, if he wants Iraq to fail, he tells the positive as well. Reading his stories, you cannot truly tell where he stands, and that’s how it’s supposed to be.
The media has lost this ability. They have a narrative and darn it, they are sticking to it, facts be damned! I don’t trust the newspaper when they say there’s a sale at Penny’s much less what’s going on in politics. And without that check against government, we as a society are in a bad position. This is compounded when one side gets a pass and the other doesn’t.
Although more embeds would be better. |

Thanks for the link McQ - I too was on the edge of my seat reading it. And when I was done, I felt compelled to log in to PayPal and drop a donation in the bucket for Yon. Pretty incredible stuff. |

Reading entries like this one from Michael Yon actually angers me to no end. What has become of our vaunted 4th Estate? Where are the journalists out there, like Mr. Yon, who report the good, the bad, and the ugly and let the pieces fall where they may? Why do they seemingly all have to have an agenda?
Keep up the good work, Michael Yon! |
